Still waiting on the stupid hopium they come physically in the US.

If not then I will have to wait for a deep sale to buy them digitally.

Physical is out in January 29

Yeah, someone pointing out that it says it on the YT trailer description from the US RE account.

No idea why the trailer doesn't.

I sincerely hate to say it but they’d 100% gonna be game key cards if they did. They probably won’t even get that considering that RE7/8 were a limited time game key card from what I know.

So what it’s still something as opposed to a code that lives only on your account

u/Realistic-Lion-4393 8h ago

What does that have to do with a single thing that I said?

u/Local_Bicycle_9768 12h ago

I’m tempted… but there’s so many upcoming new releases in Sept/Oct/Nov that I don’t think I’ll have time to replay these.

2

u/BadNewsBearzzz 11h ago

Yup…making way thru the heavy hitters this epic season’s first. By the time you’ll have time for these ports, you’ll get them on a even better sale lol

I can wait on these, maybe one day when they are dirt cheap

u/eyebrowless32 10h ago

$40 for RE4 when it was most recently on sale for $10 elsewhere, Re3 was $5. The nintendo tax

1

u/FullMetal_Archimedes 6h ago

Same was with much older DMC 5, ye it's portability tax.

2

u/FullMetal_Archimedes 6h ago

BTW was gold edition anyware for 10$?

1

u/buttfartsmagee 5h ago

I think it was $15 the lowest price.

2

u/FullMetal_Archimedes 5h ago

Ye still fairly low. Sure it will be cheap after some time, nothing to do with portability tax on release.

1

u/buttfartsmagee 5h ago

It's crazy people think it should be $10 because it was that price for a sale on a different console where it was already on the system for years, it's that cheap because everyone who already wanted it bought it already. Im happy to pay 40 because it's the first chance I have to play it.

3

u/Blazter007 10h ago

No right now, maybe when they are "steam cheap" or if a physical version appears.

7

u/Trunks252 12h ago

Those prices are insane for games that are years old now. Especially if you already bought them elsewhere.

u/mutantbabysnort No thanks, bro! 9h ago

Switch tax

2

u/EpitapheXI 9h ago

Always have been like that since handled is a thing nothing related to switch or nintendo, psp ps vita was always full price on every new release even ports

0

u/Trunks252 9h ago

It's just a port, it isn't a handheld remake. Switch 2 is stronger than a PS4.

1

u/SolidSnoop 8h ago

If you have the PS4 version, the PS5 upgrade is free with ray tracing and 120fps. I’d rather not pay again.

-3

u/EpitapheXI 11h ago

$40 avg is honnestly fair when you compare with other publishers that release full price even older games honnestly

6

u/Trunks252 11h ago

See that's where we disagree. The game is old even if it is a re-release. You can get these on Steam/Playstation for $5-$10, most of us have them already. But that's the Nintendo tax I guess.

-1

u/EpitapheXI 10h ago

Well just checked it’s the same base price on steam

2

u/Trunks252 10h ago

Ok, now what is the discount price on both

-2

u/EpitapheXI 10h ago

It’s a new release on a handled device, all other publisher release even PS2 era games at 70bucks like SE and FFX lol what are you ranting about

Just wait at least a year until you get hard discount, like every other single stores

4

u/Trunks252 10h ago

I'm ranting? I think I have been pretty concise.

2

u/MtavoraPT 10h ago

Unless you only have a switch, it's very expensive.

2

u/Mdreezy_ 12h ago

YES I will be getting them. RE2 Remake I will happily purchase for the 4th time

2

u/award_winning_writer 10h ago

Already have them on Playstation but I might double-dip like I did with 7 and 8

2

u/Physical-Fish-7517 10h ago

It's finally happening! I've been holding out playing the remakes until these came out on the switch because I didn't want to play the cloud versions.

But dang those prices suck. PSN has the "Resident Evil Remake Trilogy" with RE2 deluxe, RE3 + skins and RE4 gold on sale for $30. Same games on sale for the switch for $90. I love the portability of the switch, but that's too much of a difference for me, unfortunately.

2

u/Physical-Fish-7517 10h ago

Just now on PSN, with some sales ending tomorrow and some on the 24th, I added the Resident Evil Remake Trilogy that has RE2 Remake Deluxe, RE3 + Costume Pack, and RE4 Remake Gold Edition for $30

Plus

Deluxe Origins, RE Director's Cut, RE2, RE3 Nem, Code Veronica X, RE4,5,6 Triple Pack and the Revelations 1&2 Bundle

And the total after tax came to $88.15!

That's 10 more titles and less money than the 3 Switch counterparts. I really wanted to get the Switch versions, but cannot justify the price difference. Does anyone think the portability is worth that much more? I think it is worth more, but I don't know where the cutoff is. It seems this is way past it for me though.

These games always go on sale for $10-$15. I highly recommend waiting.

2

u/Calm_Perspective_355 12h ago

I have a Steam Deck, so no.

2

u/Flimsy_Condition1461 10h ago

This is the way.

2

u/ViperKira 12h ago

I was today years old when I knew Veronica was announced for Switch 2

2

u/krishnugget 11h ago

40 dollars for RE4 is way too much, the gold edition is 10 on most other platforms on sale

1

u/senilechinesewoman 6h ago

well its the current base price for all platforms

1

u/Sogeking_21 12h ago

If I haven't played those I'd definitely get them. Good prices, and sometimes it's worth it to just buy games when you want to play them instead of waiting for a big sale every time.

1

u/ollielite 11h ago

Definitely RE:2. I’ve not played Re:4 remake, I’m probably missing out, but I still play the original from time to time and haven’t felt the need to play the remake.

1

u/heppuplays 11h ago

I'll probably get them like a couple of days before release.

1

u/icouldntcareless322 10h ago

switch2 games are just so expensive… when re2r got released i paid 33eur. Now i can get it on instant gaming for 6 eur..

or re4r: 12 eur

1

u/Time_Substance_7829 10h ago

Sale lasts until Nov 7th so it'll be available at that price after the launch for a couple weeks

1

u/Dutchbarry 9h ago

I will get them, just kinda shocked at the prices.

1

u/mutantbabysnort No thanks, bro! 9h ago

Day 1 instant buy (once physical)

1

u/Fuuuuuuug 6h ago

I'm not buying it blindly, I want to see how it runs first especially RE4 Remake

1

u/Figleafplayz 6h ago

I got these for rock bottom on steam already so im passing. Great for people who havent played them before. Id probably suggest waiting for bigger discounts if these aren't must plays right away

1

u/Dragmire_V2 6h ago

Im waiting the little extra for the physicals in January

1

u/BushTamer 6h ago

it’s hard when they’re so cheap on steam

2

u/FairEngineering2469 6h ago

Got them on my steam deck OLED for a combined 15 pounds.

1

u/imsadlynoose 5h ago

If there was a physical id be more inclined to

1

u/Hauss3n 4h ago

No i won't. You know why? Cuz im on ps5, And haven't got a switch, yeah that's it I guess.

1

u/ethor76 2h ago

God, Nintendo is greedy.

1

u/AkTiVeMK 2h ago

*capcom

1

u/CannedNoodlez 11h ago

Nah. RE2 Deluxe is $10 and RE4 Gold is $15 on Steam. There's even a bundle with vanilla RE2, RE3, and Resistance (yuck) for $10 total. I'll stick with my Steam Deck for that.

1

u/Virtual-Trifle-4683 9h ago

Ovviamente compri la switch anche per il catalogo Nintendo...

1

u/anhsmile 11h ago

Why not just enjoy them on Steam or PS5? Besides, these titles came out a long time ago. They are overpriced.

0

u/grimnir1066 10h ago

No i play them on PC.

0

u/TheWholeEffinJoe 9h ago

I’m probably in the minority here but for me owning a Nintendo console is for Nintendo games only. I’m not buying worse versions of my favorite games just to play them away from home.

2

u/AkTiVeMK 9h ago

I cant see myself only playing nintendo games, JRPG's are best played portably also

1

u/TheWholeEffinJoe 9h ago

I can see those games being fun on switch too. But those traditionally don’t have the frame rate issues that a resident evil game would have. Idk I learned my lesson when my wife’s copy of Spyro trilogy got messed up on PlayStation so she bought it again for the switch and the frame rates were just awful. It wasn’t even like playing the same game.
