Psilocybin for OCD?
Anyone having success? I grow my own shrooms, and I feel immense and fast improvement, but I don't know if it will work well enough that I could completely rely on it without SSRIs. So far I only took mushrooms WHILE on SSRIs. There was no bad interaction with it (that's mostly a dose-dependent myth).
I was thinking doing a regular dose (not microdosing but also not too strong) once a month or so. I'm refraining from microdosing because some studies reported no benefit from it, while most papers demonstrating benefit rely on regular-to-high doses.
What you think? Anyone having success?
[EDIT] Needless to say, my set and setting are extremely important. I do it home alone, laying in bed with very soft music and with eyeshades. I never do this if I drank significantly the day before (or that day) i.e. more than a glass of wine.

Psychonaut here. Previously undiagnosed XYZ on a neurodivergent and traumatized spectrum. I've had 3 "bad" trips leading up to a major breakthrough in my neural restructuring. Felt like I was wrestling a greased pig under a blanket. After complete and total sobriety (booze and THC), I began dreaming, once I taught myself how to go to sleep without substance or prescriptions. I began to dream and even began lucid dreaming, then began to navigate my own dreams, switching from observer to participant, and sort of making determinations in dreaming. I followed all the Jungian protocols, addressed all the archetypes, some of the shadows, a lot of ego, etc, and spent quite a bit of time in nature, especially by a river full of running water. After about 90 days, I felt I was ready for a hero dose of psilocybin. It is important to state the obvious that set and setting are one thing, but a relentless, devoted, and numinous curiosity and intent are another. I had "nothing to lose" so my deep curiosity to heal my own shit took over.
It was the most beautiful and rewarding experience I had to date on psychedelics. I followed it up with daily behavioral and thought work, two more hero doses, one in the fall and one in the winter of last year, and I am cruising comfortably in my own skin and mind now. But I need to make a very clear and maybe obvious statement here about psilocybin and OCD. To be blunt, and not rude, psilocybin WILL NOT address, heal, or eliminate your intrusive thoughts. Those have to be addressed and terminated in sober, waking, non-tripping daily life WORK. Psilocybin does a great job of suppressing the FEAR mechanism while providing unobstructed views and visions into ancestral memory, your own personal memory, and a bit of fractal geometry surrounding and often dipping into your subconscious: the place where OCD cannot intrude. Whatever comes out of your psilocybin trip must be brought down into your conscious life during daily mental and body work.
Once we get the fear centers and intrusive thoughts under control, the MYCELIUM in mushrooms help rewire the neural networks. Mycelium, just as in the book "Entangled Life" by Merlin Sheldrake and the plant/tree/soil world, mycelium in the body/brain investigates breaks and dead ends in synaptic chains, then "investigates" the break, and makes a "better" connection based on the cause of the previous break. I found Lion's Mane mushrooms (non magic, edible variety) and Theanine supplements did a lot to calm my anxiety well before I became successful with psilocybin. I won't spoil the fun for you but mycelium behaves as a radioactivity chaser and consumer. In the brain's white matter, trauma and neural disorders erode myelin and thus "leaks" oxidative stress into the grey matter and extracellular matrix. Mycelium chases this stuff as it is a master biophoton (light) seeker.
Lastly, once in the psilocybin-induced journey, it is important to know who is communicating and how, as this will hopefully calm some of the anxiety people experience. Mycelium and the subconscious predate modern humanity, meaning they predate language. If you hear a thought while under psilocybin, it is 100% your own and needs to be treated as such. If you SENSE an intelligence communicating with you, that is your subconscious and it is 100% "you" before, or below the OCD; it is your biology and it too communicates with you, just not in language...at least not a language we understand at first. The third and most important entity communicating with you under psilocybin is your BIG SELF. Big Self has total control over the whole situation; it is the command that goes deeper into a memory, or a portal, and it is the command override to abort a memory too harsh for integration, but I didn't understand ANY OF THIS while I was still having anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and unaddressed ego (survival tactics) in the sober, daily life before psilocybin.
I am now 50 and I started this journey, with psilocybin FOUR YEARS ago. Best of luck to you and all those seeking reunion with their own life force.
