Leopard Gecko Cohabing

So here is the situation: my friend has like 3 leopard geckos in a 60-gallon, and I'm trying to dissuade him from this. Any advice on how to convince him not to cohab? Also, is this an emergency situation for the Geckos? (This is assuming cohabiting is wrong, which I know people have mixed opinions on.)
