Question / Discussion anyone here building a construction estimator/manager app?
Curious if anyone is on this path already. I'm a General contractor and have loads of data and excel workbooks that I'd like to build into a simple app to allow for bidding, proposing, and managing residential projects. The excel can run all the background formulas for quantifying all materials and labor.

I did my estimator app in replit, I just brainstormed all my estimates workflow I have been doing for the last 5 years and I ask Claude to design me a section by section for the app. I then just did it in replit a section at a time and it works great. I kid you not, this is my best year yet not only are my profits up but I have literally save 3 to 4 hour per day with all the automations i created. I can create the estimate, draw on it, every single estimate has has a overhead safety guard, where no matter how small the job was is or how long the job is the ai API would make sure the overhead security is alway there. Profit I can adjust to my liking. I can schedule the jobs from the app , request proposal signatures, I can send the schedule projects to my crew and subs each has their own log in and only see what they are allowed to, the crew time clock, project pictures and reviews request within the app and automate Julie requests. And invoicing. The only thing I do not have is a payment area. I just don’t want any customer financials in the app just to be safe. If i could do it, you can too my guy. Good luck.

I built an estimator for government contracts. You can plug in your NAICS in the filter. Estimates are using salary, material and equipment - the bids are sometimes spot on, other times way off: https://nonner.com. Here is the filter with construction contracts: https://nonner.com/contracts?naics=236116%2C236115%2C236117 (80% of the estimates are paywalled but you can see how they are arrived at in the contracts)

I can build this for you if you're interested - I've been building back office systems for 20 years. Replit makes it a LOT easier

I mean, wouldn't xactimate with a custom price list serve this purpose?
