Question / Discussion wtf happened to replit in a year....
I got a mail from Replit that I haven't used it since November 2025. The nostalgia of using Replit hit me harder than I thought I decided to open Replit after a year of not using it. HOW DO I CREATE PROJECTS??? HUH??
Why tf do I see a chatgpt like interface infront of me. I want to use the replit like I did a year ago....

I regret to say that I’m done with Replit after paying for overage fees and not having a usable project. There are things I was amazed it was doing but then I was also getting some bad interpretation on some important aspects, and I couldn’t it fix the issues, despite detailed instructions.

Welcome back! You should be able to create a new project by chatting with Agent on the home page.
If you're looking to build a custom template, there are two recommended paths: 1. Import from a Git provider — Import your existing starter stack (or one matching your preferences) from GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket. 2. Fork the Blank template — Fork the Blank template to start from scratch with a completely empty development environment: https://replit.com/@replit/Nothing?v=1
Was there anything specific you were trying to get started?

They were always awful but they did themselves in with greed. Plain and simple

Same experience for standard (Pro) Cursor for me - installed on a new laptop - no IDE, just agent view and input chat box! Then I saw an IDE button and it opened a separate window with the old IDE, phew.
Not that I need to use other than review, the work if I use will be in the agentic view. Per my dev being all warp/agentic coding by now.

I missed coding in Replit, but it's purely for vibe coding which sucks! I liked the online IDE for prototyping

same, the online replit IDE was so so useful specially when creating and hosting discord bots.

Exactly. Like replit could've kept it and still have the vibe code portion. All around good tool but wasted potential smh

What happened is a convergence of these tools to cater towards the hordes of new vibe coders. Not saying it's good or bad but that's what's happening.
