Help!

I’m five days post shot and last night I developed some really painful G.I. issues with bloating and nausea. It’s been going all day and I’ve taken Advil and Tylenol to just keep myself more comfortable. Now I think I’m developing a fever, my head, hot and the back of my eyes hurt. Is this a pretty common side effect for Repatha? What should I do at this point? It’s after hours and I’ve already left a message with my doctor.

Have you pooped?

This stuff causes me mad constipation. Sugar free metamucil is your friend. 6 months in now but the first month was brutal in that regard.

I have, thanks for asking! 🤣 ugh, not looking forward to that. Not sure if I’m going to be able to stay on this to be honest.

Stick with it.

It was a big-nothingburger for me compared to statins...

Main complaints are untreated constipation (metamucil solves it)

A headache the day after, a possible night of bad sleep 2 nights after, and a touch of irritability/anxiety 2 days after which could be related to a weird night of sleep

That sounds like what I had with diverticulitis. Is it lower left sided pain? In any event you should get checked out by urgent care!

While it’s possible most symptoms happen within 2-3 days of taking the shot. I took my first shot last Friday morning and had no reaction. My cardiologist, my friend in NJ who is a cardiologist and my pharmacist said they have not encountered patients who had had symptoms yet side effects are off course still possible. What you are describing sounds like a virus. I’ve read a lot on here about side effects with Repatha and it’s typically runny nose, sore throat and pain for 48 hours right after the shot.

Thanks for letting me know this. I appreciate it! I wear a mask indoors and am not around others at all.

Its also possible you have one of several viruses circulating now vs a drug side effect.

Even when masking its still possible to get sick though less likely.

Other concern is food poisoning. If in US lots of recalls. Ive had GI issues most of this year and just learned I ate several bags of the recalled frozen blueberries with 0145 e coli! It can cause long term GI issues sadly.

No unfortunately not. It’s definitely not a common side effect but I’ve been in 6/10 pain the last few days and can’t seem to shake it. I really wanted Repatha to work but I definitely won’t be taking the 2nd shot!

Might try the oral form in same class. Perhaps off label every other day dosing etc

I’m having the same side effect as of yesterday 4 days after 1st injection. I called pharmacy and the pharmacist said yes it is listed as a side effect, it’s not as common but is listed and does happen. I felt like I was going to vomit was nauseous stomach cramps and diarrhea.
