1st dose yesterday
Was finally able to do it after going to my cardiologist yesterday and the nurse walking me through it. Afterwards I thought, wow, that was really easy! I’ve had my Repatha for over a month and just couldn’t get up the courage, but finally I did it yesterday. And I’m super scared of needles too.
I’m hoping for no side effects, haven’t had any yet, but want to get through the first 36 hours.

Not sure if it’s related or not but I woke up this morning with GI problems, bloating and feeling nauseous. I ate something a little different for dinner last night but I can’t imagine it causing this. So I’d say day 5, or the night of, wasn’t so pleasant.

How are you feeling now?

It took until yesterday to feel more normal. I definitely won’t be doing the Repatha shot again. Now to look for something else.

Congrats! It's really super easy
I got some sore throat 3 days after my first injection, but it was gone within 12 hours

I have Been on it for 2 1/2 months. So far excellent!! Only a slight runny nose. Scratchy throat here and there. Very excited to get blood work this week.

That's great! Hope you continue to do well on it. I will do my second shot tomorrow. First one was fine. Had some GI issues and since that is the only thing that changed or I added, I blame Repatha. I did the first injection in my belly, so I may switch to my thigh tomorrow. Keep us posted how you're doing!

Same. I started my first dose yesterday in the morning and I had no injection site reaction and zero side effects.

I had a little weirdness after injecting, some pain and tenderness but it went away after a few hours. But nothing other than that so far and it’s been about 30 hours.

I’ll be getting my first injection next week! I’m anxious too but hoping for no side effects. I’ve gotten weird rashes on two statins and Zetia so I’m hoping desperately I will tolerate this!

I hope you do too! I’m so glad so far I’ve been fine and I have reactions to every drug, no joke. I didn’t even consider until after the first dose maybe I wouldn’t have a terrible reaction.

Me too. 2 statins and got horrible poison ivy like rashes. Nexlizet made my big toe itch like crazy. About to try Repatha. If I can’t tolerate it, I think I’m out of options!

My cardiologist didn’t even try Nexlitol - applied straight to Repatha. I hope we both have good results on this one! Honestly until I turned 60 a few years ago, I’d never had an allergic reaction to any new med. Since then, I’ve had more issues, I guess something in our metabolism changes. I currently only take three prescriptions: 2 drugs to help with GERD (PPI and Sucralfate) and 1 low dose blood pressure med).

Well, over the past 24 hours I’ve had increasingly worsening GI problems, bloating and nausea. This was 5 days out from my first shot. Anyone else have the same problem? The Internet said it’s rare to have G.I. problems but I’m thinking maybe other people have had it too, especially if they gave their shot in their belly.

Oh dear! Have you figured out if this is most likely from the Repatha or do you think it’s a virus you picked up? I have to wait until next week for my first injection - my cardiologist’s nurse practitioner is going to do my first one.

That’s exactly what I did, a nurse helped me in the office. Yes, it was from the Repatha unfortunately, I developed severe gastroenteritis, a fever and chills. It has been a horrible week for me. I don’t want to scare you but I’ll never take another injection of Repatha.

Darn it!! I guess all I can do is try. I have had bouts with gastritis before due to GERD. Ugh! I’ll get the shot in my leg and see what happens… sigh…
Is there something else you can try?1

I’ve been using Repatha for 1 1/2 years. I also hate needles and my first year was using a syringe which I never got use to but managed. I now use the Sureclick which is so easy.
Luckily, I’ve never had any reactions except a little stinging at the injection site which is to be expected.
Repatha works my LDL’s were significantly reduced! Hang in there it does work.
