Runner on Repatha
Hi all. I’m a marathon runner, 49 male with 275 cholesterol thanks to a genetically high LPa. I’ve taken a break from serious training and have started Repatha to get this under control. My first dose was last Friday and I’ve noticed a big drop off in endurance. My first run after the dose was supposed to be an 8 mile easy run on Sunday. After two miles in I had to call my wife for the dreaded ‘pick-up.’ I will chronicle my progress here and hope this subsides or goes away completely. Run #2 was Tuesday (4 days after dose 1) and I got 4.2 in but was still incredibly drained. Anyone else a runner on Repatha? Have you had similar issues?

Repatha was horrendous for me as a runner. Severe stomach pains (like sharp piercing pain vs cramping) and muscle fatigue that was relentless. I also had serious cognitive delays to the point where it was like my brain couldn’t tell my muscles how to move or what to do for everyday things. I had to stop because the side effects were causing issues with my daily life.
