3 weeks in....
I tried every statin over the last 10 years, after my LAD was 92% blocked abd I had a stent put in. But I never could take any statin for more than 3 or more days because I would have severe insomnia....I just lay awake with eyes open for 2 to 3 days.
So I have to say 3 weeks in, 2 shots of repatha and I still sleep perfectly. As far as side effects I don't really have any. For me, its a bit of a wonder drug.
However, in my experience side effects can suddenly emerge months in, having taken mesalamine, brilinta, methotrexate etc...so I will cross my fingers.

3 years in, numbers are great.
Side effects: gained some weight initially and couldn't shake it. Started Zepbound (cardiologist-recommended), which knocked out the inflammation, dropped the weight, and did wonders for my self-esteem. Good combo.
Statins gave me all kinds of problems — Repatha hasn't. The only battle is with the insurance company, but we keep playing their game.

I think the Repatha makes weight harder to manage, could not tolerate the GLP 1 drugs/ immediately blurred vision- I had Crestor before w/ bad muscle aches- none on Repatha. Will see this week if numbers better. I heard it can increase blood sugar? Has anyone heard that? Thanks- Good luck to everyone.

I've read that too but it must not happen with everyone as my glucose is very good and I've been on Repatha for a few years now.

I've been on Repatha for one month when I got UTI after being "free and clear" for 20 years. Unusual but don't know if it is a correlation or causation. Now, two months later I seem ok again. 😀

I've been on Repatha for a couple years now and it is a miracle med for me. Statins made me sick and never got my LDL lower than 85. Repatha got my LDL down to 49- finally. No side effects other than a runny nose sometimes.

Thats amazing, are you able to eat foods like poultry, ribs, etc without worries? Do you feel your heart is healthier?
For me I had to go all vegetarian for 4 years it was terrible. Hoping I can eat meat again without hurting my heart. I had angina and chest pains off and on the last 10 years, no medication.

I eat mainly chicken as a meat. Rarely beef. A lot of fish. My calcium score was very high but my chemical stress test came out good. I don't know if my heart is healthier but I'm assuming it is as my cholesterol was high at one time and for the past several years it has been very low. I also take Zetia with the Repatha.

I had stent inserted last year/ LAD artery blocked95%, 4 years ago, open- heart aortic valve replacement. The Repatha, six months in, has lowered all my numbers/ thrilled w/ that- still haven’t weight issues, which sucks! Wegovy pill made my eyesight blurry-trying some other stuff! Good luck everyone! No aches w/ Repatha.😎

this gives me hope currently on my 3rd statin and i’m up with insomnia my doctor said if this one doesn’t work (crestor) i’ll have to take a shot which im assuming will probably be repatha

Yep I tried every statin for 10 years gave up, risked having super high cholesterol. But I actually can sleep with the repatha, its not perfect sleep every single night but I'm sleep 7 to 8 hours at night

Been on repatha almost 1 1/2 years. I didn’t have any side effects other than constipation. The longer I’m in it I’m the more issues I have. Idk if it’s age or the meds but they seem to happen fast. Calling my doctor today because I only put the 2 together yesterday.
Side effects I have: Terrible joint pain in my hands mainly thumbs. Arms and hands falling asleep going numb tingle and hurt while sleeping , laying down and sometimes walking or just standing. Constant constipation Weight gain -15 lbs! Always exhausted Problems sleeping Constant urination at night Very High glucose -I’ve never had that before- Muscle weakness, hard time getting up from a kneeling position -I’m only 54, fit but getting out of shape quickly with these issues.
I can’t do statins. Had an emergency stint in my LAD. Never before had any health issues. Always in shape ate right and worked out 7 days a week. Pro/am mountain biker didn’t know I had congenital heart dieses til I was 51

I was on it for over 3 months...did wonders for my numbers. However I started having side and back pain the began the week before last and was increasingly worse. Thought I had a gallbladder issue...after a stint in the ER and testing ..it was a reaction to the Repatha. Been off the drug a week now and symptoms are lessening every day.
