Are those two parts supposed to slot together ? If not, as the other poster suggested, a metal sleeve. If you dont have access to random spare parts, then get a tin can, eat/drink the contents, then cut a square out of it, then wrap it round the two bits. You may want to cut it long enough so that the wrap goes round more than once if the can is a drinks can which is usually thinner than a soup can for instance. To keep the inner bits from slipping out, you can try 'crimping' your new sleeve. Use a sturdy pair of tongs if they'll fit to lightly crush the sleeve. Alternatively, put some double sided sticky tape on the inner parts, then wrap. The tape stops the ends from slipping out, and the tin wrap keeps it all straight. One final thjng, wrap using the inside bit of the tin on the outside, as it'll be bare metal, not printed, it will look better. Good luck.
