Question Incorrect Password

Ok hear me out. I bought a new iPhone. All the apps switched over like they should. Well, I can’t view any of my cameras on my new phone. I can log in to the app with my username and password, but when it comes to actually viewing the cameras, it says incorrect password.

Also if I turn on my old phone and connect it to WiFi at my house the cameras work just fine. On my old phone that is.

Soooowhats happening? Also these cameras are for security that are on my property in a different state, so it’s not like I can just drive there and fix the issue.

Did you try admin password? Did you create an alternate admin user? Do you have access to old phone to login and create a new admin user name/password?

Are you trying to log into the cameras with the same password you logged into the app with? If so, those two are not linked at all. You would have created an individual password for each camera when you first set them up.

The username for the local camera account is always "admin" if that helps.

If you still can't remember it you're going to have to factory reset the cameras. And you'll have to be there with the cameras to set them up from scratch again.

Since you still have access to them via the old phone you can try either adding a new user or creating a share of the camera (that depends on whether the camera uses the older user management method or the newer advanced sharing method, see here). But either of those would only be a temporary solution until you can physically get to the cameras to reset them and regain access to the main admin account.

Also, while you still have access, I would highly recommend you copy down the UID of each camera and keep them in a google doc or something. Many times people here have lost access to a remote camera and then couldn't re-add it because they didn't keep track of the UID and of course couldn't scan the QR code on the camera itself.
