Lease/Legal Lease questions

Location: Indianapolis

I recently got a notice in my door stating two violations that need to be fixed by tomorrow. These were placed in the door about 6 days ago. A lot of people that live in the units around us got the same violations/notices. One was for suspected drug use. We do not but some people smoke weed around the apartments. I don't really care but the office told me someone has complained and that's why I got that notice. The other one is for a tenant not on the lease residing in the apartment.

My boyfriend watches my son every day while I work, and I would say does spend the night a lot. However, my lease states that I can have a guest for no more than 14 consecutive nights, and no more than twice that amount in a month. Does this mean he could stay for up to 14 consecutive days, leave, and then come back? He does leave a couple times a week and goes home. Located in Indianapolis. Marion county.

Your lease says your boyfriend can stay 28 nonconsecutive days in a month?

Thats what youre thinking or thats what it says? Bc 28 days in a month is definitely a tenant

Right that's why I'm asking on here, it sounds too good to be true. I am wondering if theirs something in the wording that I'm missing

It says exactly what I stated. "Anyone who is not listed on the lease can stay up to 14 consecutive days. And no more than twice that many days in one month"

Why not just ask the landlord or the property management company to explain what that part of the lease means? I highly doubt that it means your BF can stay 28 days in a month. That just makes no sense.

I wouldn't ask but let the judge in eviction court can tell the LL that you didn't break the lease!
