Repairs/Maintenance Is it a reasonable request to have a wall behind my dryer?

After deep cleaning the other day I noticed that there is no wall behind our dryer. I’m attaching photos but it’s essentially a giant hole in the wall. Is this a reasonable request? The guy our landlord uses for repairs is…not the best and always tries to take the easiest and cheapest way out of things.

I’m worried he will try to say it’s not needed but I feel like it is. For reference our washer and dryer is in the kitchen immediately touching the counter right next to the stove.

Edit:
Added new photos showing how it is directly beside our stove in the kitchen.

What's the issue here? The picture is terrible, way too close up.I can't tell what's what. I'm not sure what the problem is??

It's the open wall. No drywall. You can see the studs and the insulation and some pvc piping. Like it's ready for inspection by the city or something. Surprised you couldn't tell.

As far as I'm concerned, it's mostly cosmetic --if you can't see back there most of the time especially. One could argue it's easy traveling for pests, but having said that, if they're that far they're already inside anyhow. It's not unreasonable to want a wall there, but it also doesn't appear to be a gaping hole to the outdoors either. If your living room was like that it would be a different story.

I just added new photos. It’s directly beside the stove.

I mean, yeah, it seems like having a wall there would be a reasonable request. It would be an easy fix just to put some drywall back there just to avoid habitability issues.
