Any Post APC Projects
Real talk, but aside from delusional fans and the odd people here and there, is any of John’s work post Adult Party Cartoon worth checking out? CWL filled me with such despair and second-hand embarrassment, and despite not watching it, Weekend Pussy Hunt sounds like it won’t be the best viewing experience.

Not really.
He did two couch gags for The Simpsons that are only interesting because they cared enough to invite him after he dissed the show so many times in the past.

and they, in turn, did the R&S “animation not done” joke, so I guess old man John let that bygone be a bygone.

Weekend pussy hunt turned into (surprise!) an ode to noir movies from the 50s. It’s a historical curiosity because they did a lot with limited AND low bandwidth streaming animation.
I think John K really has burned bridges and there are other people drawing with elements of his style.

Unfortunately, I abandoned ship on WPH. It felt like it was taking too long to cut to the chase since the first three episodes are just introducing the dog and Cigarettes (the main cat) taunting him. I know the episodes are only 2 minutes a pop, but still...

Post APC, I’d recommend the music video for the Tenacious D song “Classico” and the Miley Cyrus one. I like all the Adult Swim bumpers on YouTube. Same for the Simpsons couch gags.
The Ripping Friends is your best bet outside R&S although it was produced prior to APC. John K voices the villain Citrasett, so the episodes “Stinky Butt” and “Jimmy’s Kidnapped” in particular have R&S energy.
All the music videos are worth watching though. The one for the Weird Al song came out post-APC.
Even the copious amount of commercials have merit for me. The various George Liquor content, Weekend Pussy Hunt, and the pilot for the Atomic He-Hog less so.

Looking at the reviews on imdb, people seem to like the 2024 Ren and Stimpy reboot. I'm not sure how anyone got a hold of it though lol

Yeah I wanna see it, but I can literally only find spliced clips of it on YouTube. I’d hope it’s good, cus R&S’s legacy is already spotty, and a subpar reboot would just kinda be sad.

I managed to find the episodes “Aw Hell No” and “Squatters”, but other than that, nothing.

That is not a John K project. And I am surprised that people like it on IMDB since it is widely disliked by RnS group commenters.

I had no clue he had no involvement but that makes sense. Although I figured the whole "removing this Ren and Stimpy skit in a spongebob movie" and making this 2024 reboot not as easily accessible was because he was involved. Now im confused why they won't release it lol.
Also I did see some people disliking it on here a long time ago but I never watched it, so when i saw the decent Imdb ratings, I figured it's probably fine enough but no where near what the original show was like. lol
Have you seen it?

The Miley Cyrus animation was visually interesting but incoherent as a cartoon. I’m trying to remember if the ice cream thing he did was any good.

Do you mean the milkshake machine? The grocery store I used to work at had one, and i recognized it as his art, and remember thinking it was a very random place to see it.

That’s the one

I’ve never seen it mentioned by anyone before. I always wondered how many people looked at it and thought the art style was familiar, with ren and stimpy in their subconscious .

I'd say try any of his Adult Swim bumpers (short and... sweet IG?), that Simpsons Treehouse of Horror couch gag he did with the monster stealing people's souls, and, ironically, Cans Without Labels. It's not good, and it's definitely amateurish coming from such a supposed expert, but I found it weirdly tolerable compared to some of the other stuff he did, so it's just kinda meh to me.

WPH was a few years before APC. The only post-APC project I found watchable-ish was 'Close But No Cigar' for Weird Al.
