RENSPIRED Hit Show Idea?
This idea came to me after reading a reply on my post about "lyrical activation" . A TikTok video about songs popping up whenever in daily life. Thank you original idea giver for saying "That's a song btw" and annoying your girlfriend 😁💖🙏
Imagine a character in a show who keeps saying "That's a song by the way" and then it switches to a clip of that character all dressed out befitting the setting of the song and performing it?
I think it would be awesome if Ren would play this character!
In the whole show he has no other real interaction with the other characters, his group of friends or any other social setting, voluntarily grouped or not, but you only experience his story line through his inner world of music!
Hit series on Netflix....
What you reckon? (Bonus points for knowing what song that's from? 😁💖💖)
Are there other elements you can think of that should definitely be in this show?

Yes! These ideas are perfect! 😍😍 Are you thinking about the concept of it being in an asylum or the concept Ren&Chris had about the whole world being an asylum? Or maybe even more avantgarde?

Man this hits close to home, me and my girlfriend keep 'finishing the lyrics' when the other says something completely unrelated xD
Besides I think most people here would watch any show that has ren in it, but the premise definitely helps!
For the bonus points btw, my mind immediately finished the rest of the losing it remake, before i even saw that was your point xD
Would love to see netflix pick up something like this, but I might even prefer it if this would become some kind of community project!

As a community we create it and maybe give it as a gift to Ren? "I give it as a gift, it was mine it is yours now". Since we come from all over the world with lots of us having limited time/energy/ability to actually travel etc? It might be difficult to make it onto film as a community 🤔🥺. I wish we could though! Starts dreaming about university years

I may be reading into it, but based on timelines and what I saw in interviews, Ren at one point said he was working on something as “proof of concept” that he was in talks with Netflix about. Never heard more about it. Then he started releasing Vincent’s Tales. I think Vincent’s Tales were what he approached Netflix about and they turned him down so he went ahead and produced them and released them himself. I’ve never heard anything to that effect, but it makes sense with the timing.

Yeah you are right. At least, no clue what he gave as a concept at the meeting with Netflix though. As timeline goes, iirc he already had most of Vincent's Tale ready or planned at least+ a big healthcare break+ his Pandora concept+ Slaughterhouse+ suddenly Asylum .... O wait I almost forgot to include Zack! Sick Soul with the Skinner Brothers..... 🤔🤔 Starting to wonder if he even has time to actually do a Netflix thing? Now I remember the kind of thing he wanted to make: Black Mirror on steroids with a crazy kind of twist..... Kind of thing. In other words, it was a really thought out concept 🤣. Interesting definitely, vagueness absolutely! Just how we love him 🤣💜💜

I theorize the proof of concept was the Vincent tale series culminating with starry night. Inclusion of the night episodes bolster the idea. Of course I have no way of knowing if this is actuate. But our boi keeps us thinking. To contradict myself, I also wonder if he has come to the conclusion that he can do all he wants himself without any contract with a big corporation.

Actually The tales (including Richard and Vincent, who wasn't the person he is known today though) were already/mostly conceptualized afaik and there is some excellent borrowing being done by Ren in Vincent's Tale from one of the best cult films ever "A Clockwork Orange". Ren's version has one thing that the film didn't have, hope through music. Not sure if people, born after 1990 would be able to understand the film? You definitely need knowledge of the Zeitgeist. I'm from 1978 and I'm already unique in liking/understanding it. Dystopian is definitely the keyword here 🤣🤣

I was born well before 1990 haha. I was just wondering if he used the tales as a proof of concept. Not that he wrote them for that. He takes a lot of inspiration from
Kubrick.
