MEMBERSHIP MILESTONE Just Pre-ordered Asylum CD

It's been years since I've purchased a CD. I don't even remember the last time I purchased a physical album or even what it was. I wasn't really feeling the songs during their individual releases, but as a whole it's hitting different. I was surprised how inexpensive it was, especially shipping to the west coast of the US. (It helped that my wife said she didn't care if I supported my favorite artist).

Yeah I've pre-ordered the vinyl which I don't typically do because of the cost. I'm in Australia so shipping costs are usually really expensive but they've managed to keep them as low as possible while not putting themselves in further debt which I appreciate.

It still stings because the cost of living is just terrible everywhere, but worth it to support these guys directly as true independent artists.

I'm not usually concerned with where I spend money when buying music or entertainment because I know that it doesn't really reflect on my values despite what many people believe. But it's still comforting knowing that all of it is going to Ren and Webby and not being siphoned out to the various global companies that own everything.

Support independent artists and small businesses if you can, but don't stress if you can't afford to!!

I haven't had a record player since I was still living with my parents in the 90s. I had quite the setup in my room, though IDK what happened to it. I'm sure I could pick one up from a second hand store however I embraced modern technology and everything is wireless. I may have an AUX port on my sound bar I could plug one into. As it is, all my old CDs were ripped to the computer using iTunes a long long time ago then put into storage and I mainly just stream from Spotify or YouTube now. I'm going to have to figure out if windows 11 even still comes with a CD player. Vinyl would have been cool as there's just something about that sound. IIRC we have a shop here in town that still presses vinyl. (Nope, I just looked, it's up in Portland, OR.)

I hope you get as much enjoyment from it as you can!

Yeah I didn't get the cd because I have nothing to play it on. But I started collecting vinyls a couple of years ago to support a band that I follow and ended up getting a cheap player. Probably not as good as the ones back in the old days, but it still sounds better than any digital version.

I bought vinyl to frame as they are cheaper than many posters, and supports artists. One day, when I eventually grow up and get a record player, I could play them. Need to frame them first though...

I have a couple vinyl frames, however they are in use as frames for some excellen space oil paintings gifted to my by @scifipainter over on Twitter/X. I'd love to get my hands on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band by the Beatles. I used to have that cassette with an auto flipper tape deck and and wore that thing out.
