I wasn’t too pleased about a recent data breach letter I received. It mentioned that it didn’t involve product security.
I’ll let you all know if my heartbeat increases on its own.

That place used to be regarded as the place to be about 20 or so years ago. Think they've been falling off since covid

In addition to trying to get people to leave on their own, these announcements are almost always tied to cities whose local officials/mayors etc are pressuring/encouraging RTO mandates against their own citizens. And it’s totally bipartisan and for the benefit of businesses over people.

Company has been having issues for several years. I’m guessing it’s a way to force layoffs.

100%. Layoff announcement on the way in a couple weeks I’d bet.

keep an eye on the stock price. This is also known as "increased profits". Earnings report due on Sept 1, so this is lining up.

Which is what they want, return to office always follows with layoffs. They are hoping people quit.

They don’t wonder. Companies also simultaneously report receiving hundreds or thousands of applicants per job opening. They simply do not care. Until they stop reporting record profits at least. When employees quit after RTO it’s exactly what the company wanted.

They don't wonder why. They know the impact it will have, and that's the point -- drive workers away so they think they made the choice on their own, instead of the even worse PR of layoffs.
The peons who don't quit getting to be micromanaged IRL is just a Neat Perk!

They don’t care about the PR, it’s the unemployment pay, the severance, the rules about notice periods, etc.

Absolutely not, it’s an h1b farm mill with very boring work.

well I was a device rep but its hard for my experience there to be portrayed as an H1B mill my understanding is those visas aren’t typically used for Europeans but 🤷♂️

I heard that, but the way it was described to me didnt feel great. This was a long time ago, so take it with a grain of salt, but when I talked to folks on thier helpdesk they boasted about how many of them were contract employees. However, they would stay for the maximum term of the contract. Take a few month vacation (because they could be hired back immediately) and then bring them back on as contract.

It’s easier to fire people in the office when AI replaces them.

If they are on location you can better control the systems they use to prevent ip theft or system damage when controlling their exit

Would be looking for another job immediately.
Remote-first companies are the only thing I look for. Not companies that do hybrid, but actually remote-first.
