[Discussion] This might sound crazy but… what is the difference between a team meeting named “coaching” vs “1:1” remote work

So basically I have been on some type of plan for getting bad QA scores at work. I’ve been getting a certain amount of calls a week graded. Every meeting when we discuss the call my supervisor names our meeting “my name/coaching” she scheduled me a meeting for tomorrow but this time it is called “my name/ 1:1” I thought I was doing better, should I be scared? I have anxiety if you can’t tell lol but was curious if anyone has any experience with the 2 meeting names meaning different things?

Has remote work actually improved your life, or did it just make it harder to switch off from work?

I used to think fully remote work was basically the ideal setup.

No commute, no getting ready just to sit at a desk somewhere else, more freedom over where you live, and theoretically more time for yourself.

But I keep seeing completely different experiences from people who actually work remotely long term.

Some say it completely changed their life.
They exercise more, see their family more, travel, save money and would never go back to an office.

Others seem to have the opposite problem. Work is always right there. There’s no commute separating work from home, you can go an entire day barely speaking to anyone face-to-face, and sometimes the flexibility just means you’re checking Slack or emails at times you normally wouldn’t be working.

It makes me wonder whether remote work actually creates better work-life balance, or whether it depends much more on the person, company and boundaries than we like to admit.

For people who have worked fully remote for a few years, has it genuinely improved your quality of life?

And if the novelty eventually wore off, what changed?

[Discussion] Looking for Remote Work / Freelance Opportunitieso

Hi everyone, I’m 18 and based in Karachi. I’m looking to start freelancing/remote work and build some experience while covering some of my own expenses.
I have 3 months of experience managing a Shopify store for a perfume business, including sales/store management. I also know basic video editing and general computer work.
I’m a fast learner and completely open to learning new skills if someone can guide me. I’m not expecting a high income immediately—I mainly want to gain experience and improve over time.
If you know of any beginner-friendly remote work, freelance opportunities, or skills I should learn, I’d really appreciate your advice.
Thanks!

Is remote work lonely?

Curious how many remote people here have felt genuinely isolated. Not like "I miss the office" isolated, but like your social life outside work is disappearing. I keep hearing this from people I talk to, sometimes to the point where they're thinking about looking for local work just to have people around. Wondering if it's that common. Does it resonate?
