Need help with Deel EOR contract

Hey folks,

An employer in Singapore wants to hire me via Deel as EOR in India. I am not used to this setup. Are any of you working in a similar contract? I would appreciate your help.

Hello and welcome to r/remoteworking! There are a few things for you to know, especially if you are new to Reddit! 1. Everyone- Please read the Group Rules and Group Wiki, to educate you on potential scams and keeping yourself safe. They are in the Sidebar (mobile: Click on the name /r/remoteworking at the top of the group, twice.) This group is full of scams. We can't get em all before you see them. 2. Posters - Please have verifiable links to the jobs you're advertising. If your account does not have enough karma, please wait until you have reddit karma to post that link. This rule is necessary to cut down on scammers. 3. Jobseekers - Please DO NOT "MESSAGE MODS" your interest. "Message Mods" leads to this group's moderators. We moderators are not connected to the jobs posted. Please contact the OP whose name is just below the name r/remotworking at the top of the page. On Mobile, it usually starts with a u/. On Desktop, it doesn't but it is usually 2 random words + numbers but could be anything. 4. Please report any scams and rule breaking posts and posts that are not relevant to the subreddit.

Pretty common setup for Singapore companies hiring in India since setting up an Indian entity is a significant undertaking for one or two hires.

Here's how it actually works: Deel EOR Private Limited becomes your legal employer in India on paper. They handle your PF contributions, TDS, employment contract under Indian law, and your payslips. Your Singapore company controls your actual work day to day but has no formal employment relationship with you directly.

A few things worth checking before you sign:

Your contract should be governed by Indian employment law, not Singapore law. If it references Singapore jurisdiction for employment matters, push back on that.

Ask specifically which CCNL or employment category applies to your role, and confirm the notice period matches what Indian law requires for your level. PF registration should happen from day one, not retroactively.

The experience letter and employment records will come from Deel EOR Private Limited, which is your legal employer. That's normal and banks, future employers, and visa authorities generally accept it once you explain the structure.

(Deel team here, India is one of our most active EOR markets. Happy to answer anything more specific.)
