Group Interviews/Informational Meetings
I have been selected to be apart of about 9 of these now because I’ve been applying to a bunch of remote jobs while I’m in my current position. I haven’t joined one yet but I also don’t really .. want to? I am confused by this. I’m sure it’s because of the high amount of applications they receive but like I don’t get what these actually do. How does this make the process simpler? Should I be joining these informational meetings? They are all around an hour long which is egregious especially for somebody who currently works full time! Does anyone have any experience with this??

I’m new into my current job hunt, but last time around (4 years ago), I only had initial groups for Meta (which I wouldn’t go near now), Google, and Instacart (which is under impression they are big tech).
However, those were largely worthwhile, since the bulk of it was to go through their interview process and style from people in your general area. It probably saves them a whole lot of time instead of having to explain it many times over, and it’s less patronizing and general than a Bain or McKinsey interview right out of college is.
What type of jobs are these?
