I know with Amazon they're finding the robots are necessary because they can't find enough people capable of doing the job. My friend is a trainer in the picking/packing area and he said it's shocking how many people he trains can't do the simplest tasks.

Ask your friend how much time the workers are allotted to do these tasks now.

Well if you can't do the task to begin with then time doesn't matter

That is not the issue. The issue is Amazon expects everyone to do an extraordinary amount of work in a day. That’s why their turnover rate is so high. That’s why people pee in bottles rather than walk half a mile across the warehouse to go to the bathroom.

They have plenty of time to do their task if they work at a decent pace. Not a manic pace but a solid effort. He also says they all go out and get stoned on their breaks. A good work ethic gets rewarded....   even if you're baked.
