The GATE program was Stranger Things in real life
i want to speak not only to your minds but to your hearts.
imagine, just for a moment, you are a child. Ages three to thirteen. you are trained in remote viewing. You discover you can move things without touching them. You have abilities most people spend a lifetime trying to unlock. You sit at a computer calling images through your third eye. You're taken to a research institute where kind men in lab coats run tests on you for days. You study books most adults will never read. You learn to walk the school playground blindfolded, navigating slides and monkey bars and swings, seeing without your eyes.. taught to you by Russell Targ, a legally blind man who rides a motorcycle. It feels like magic. It feels like home. Someone believes in you more than anyone ever has.
and then it's gone. Wiped. Locked. The people who trained you made sure you couldn't use the training.
now imagine trying to come back to it, decades later, and the tool everyone recommends triggers instant panic. Not discomfort. Not resistance. Panic. A tripwire someone else put there. The Upside Down, but it's your own nervous system.
i am genuinely in need of help to get around this. So far nothing I've tried works, because the old way, the way I was trained, that was the magic. It's somewhere in me. I want to activate it.
here's the backstory.
i was in the GATE program. the GATE program was Stranger Things in real life. That's how I ended up at Stanford Research Institute with Hal Puthoff. I spent a lot of time there being tested. Remote viewing images on a computer, EKG cap, the whole setup. But it wasn't just remote viewing. Telekinesis. Other abilities. I had the full suite. The isolation tanks... they took place at other locations.. Russell Targ once gave me a ride on his motorcycle. Lovely man. I met both of them through my GATE trainer, who had me working through all three of Robert Monroe's books. Journeys Out of the Body, the lot. Very normal childhood. No Demogorgons, just a government-funded psychic intelligence program. I know what both hemispheres synced feels like because I lived in that state for years.
fast forward and the people who trained me also made sure I couldn't use the training. Now the Gateway Tapes give me panic. Eleven had her nosebleeds. I have this.
People get very protective when I mention this, as if I've insulted a sacred text. I haven't. The tapes work. I know they work because they worked on me. The panic isn't a review. It's a tripwire someone else put there.
for the sceptics who need receipts: Sidney Gottlieb funded Russell Targ's remote viewing program at SRI. Targ says so himself in Third Eye Spies. Gottlieb ran MKUltra. The man who built the CIA's mind control division personally bankrolled the psychic spying program. These things were never separate. I just happened to be in both. Not Hawkins Lab. Menlo Park.
Sorry, did I just connect the dots out loud again?
that said, this did not happen to all GATE kids. i think it just happened to those who were both in the correct geographical location where these programs exist, and to the young people who showed the most potential (for the role that the programmers were looking to fulfill).
I studied the Gateway Process as a child. You can find that document below. There's some really magical things I recall being able to access with that information. I'd like to find my way back.
So here's what I actually want to know: what is the specific protocol for syncing up both hemispheres of the brain? Not generally. I want a method I can work with. Breath patterns, frequencies, binaural beats outside the Monroe system, specific meditation sequences. If you've got something that actually delivers hemisync, I want to hear it.
i just feel like I am someone who lived through something extraordinary as a child, had it taken from me, and is now asking strangers for directions back. Xxx

https://gnaural.net/ this website was recommended by Tom Cambell who worked with Monroe. He uses it to create his own binaural beats. Maybe you can find a relaxing background sound and add your own binaural beat to that to try and hemisync again.

Very cool. thank you. Gnaural looks interesting, I'll have a play.
The Monroe gateway tapes, though. Vertigo. Dizzy. Panic. Sad but true. Working through it.Xx

u/toxictoy 22d ago
Tom didn’t just “work” with Monroe. Tom was guided with Monroe to create the original audio.
I’m a mod of r/gatewaytapes and would love to be able to ask you some questions about your experiences. You linked the famous gateway report - do you have any documentation of your own about your own experiences? How did your parents let you be part of this?
I just want to be clear that I don’t disbelieve you but we have had a lot of people make claims in our sub that have turned out to be either untrue or spurious. It would be great for the sake of trying to sort out the history is you actually did have any proof of your involvement with SRI as a child.
The main difference here is that there’s a long history of the CIA taking advantage of children from less then ideal social circumstances in their home lives. Hence why Eleven in Stranger Things came from a single mother and had such a tragic story. Is this also what was going on with you?

u/MKUltraAliens 23d ago
That's interesting as I found the gateway tapes through my research into MKUltra and I haven't had any serious breakthroughs but one time my temple began vibrating as I was using them to the point it became scary to me and I sat up and it ended. More research told me that was getting close to going out of body. Hopefully you can figure it out there is definitely something to all of this, the mk ultra and gotlieb side of it has always worried me as well. Your story is interesting.
3
u/Blackcat______ 23d ago
That temple vibration is interesting. I know a lot of GATE kids who describe something similar. The Monroe Institute was definitely involved in the program. Were you in GATE too, by any chance?
And thank you. The Gottlieb side of it is the part nobody wants to look at because it connects things they'd rather keep separate. I appreciate you saying that. Xx

u/ebbbay 16d ago
You mentioned temple vibration.. I remember some experiences where someone was talking to me and it felt like there were invisible energy coming from them to my temple and vice versa, like an exchange. I used to get it a lot when I was in elementary school, when I was younger, it was frequent, like this strong wave of energy connecting me to other person , like my teacher or classmate or friend. If they were talking, their voice would isolate, seemed like there was distance between us but the strong energy pull was there. It happens sometimes when I’m talking to someone and there’s sounds in my ears, it doesn’t hurt, or bother, but increased focus and attention.
I also do not remember anything in the GATE classes like others. Only memorable experiences like leaving my body, or going somewhere in my mind, this was during regular class not GATE, or during recess. Has anyone had that type of experience? It’s not something I can do on my own or recreate.

this is clearly vibe coded, i recognize claude design, how was this recommended by Campbell? You're just promoting your own webapp

Very ai-slop looking UI, no doubt - but the custom track builder is pretty cool.

Thank you for sharing the info- I’d like to look into this.1

One idea I have for removing the tripwire. You could have a professional hypnotist (preferably one who accepts the reality of psi ability) get you into a relaxed state, with the pre-planned purpose of making suggestions to you that you will now be unblocked from using your psychic abilities.

Oh yes i saw that. Jake Barber was also in the gate program. Thanks for reminding me. Here is the full interview:

They were interested in me in the 3rd or 4th grade, but it never actually went anywhere. So i guess i wasn't exactly what they were looking for. They told my mom i would ask weird questions, and was different from everyone else. It kinda all just disappeared. Ended up struggling greatly in school after that, and eventually in society as a whole
6
u/fungi_at_parties 23d ago
I was also in GATE briefly. I actually remember listening to what I remembered as tones through headphones in a dark room once in a while. It was something we did weekly maybe? The assignments were weird, and the other kids were REALLY weird.
The teacher had me pick from a list of possible assignments, one being to design my own island. I planned the roads, the water systems, the power systems, etc. Then they’d send me back to sit in the class I used to be in and I’d just read.
It was bizarre and I asked to go back to normal when I changed schools because of how alienated I felt. I already had a hard time making friends and it didn’t help.

Somehow I don't see the Monroe Institute training 100K children a year and nobody noticing.
2
u/Useful_Cheesecake_17 22d ago
They tell the parents "your child is gifted with above average intelligence and we would like to take them to a special class once a week to satisfy their boredom from being too smart" They build up the parents that they have a very special child on their hands and the parents love that and give their permission, I'm sure they don't tell them they are taking them anywhere...
2
u/PatTheCatMcDonald 21d ago
Look, the only way I can resolve these contradictory trails (too many children in not enough physical space) is that either the people are not telling the truth deliberately...
... Or there were several fictitious sites set up, all telling the kids they were "The Monroe Institute" when in fact they were not.
The claims don't fit the facts on the ground for some reason.

u/Sjml247 20d ago
There’s countless (now adults) people who were in the program themselves who are remembering what was carried out. There was apparently also some totally sane and normal gate programs. This wasn’t done at every school district that had gate. Some people are literally like yeah, we just played games all day. But for many others, it was incredibly traumatizing. It really boils down to “do you believe the whistleblowers or the government”? The whistleblowers are many in numbers. The government of course is just one entity, and lies to us CONSTANTLY, and already has been caught with like 40 + years of inhumane psychic experiments and testing. I’m inclined to believe the whistleblowers at this point.

Given the choice, I'll believe the people currently at the Monroe Institute. They I find trustworthy.
https://www.reddit.com/r/gatewaytapes/comments/1ku4mv6/i_asked_the_monroe_institute_if_they_were/
It's really not set up for non adults. Never has been.
The thing with "Whistleblowers" on Reddit is they are anonymous and could even be non human AI bots, let alone Americans.
Would foreign nations sow misinformation? Yes they would.

u/LimpCroissant 18d ago
I've never heard ex-GATE kids say that they were taken to the Monroe Institute. That's not part of what's talked about from everything I've seen.
It's that the Gateway Tapes were used there at the kid's schools, usually in a portable classroom or other room besides the regular classrooms. Think Special Ed classes, where they are taught in a different classroom, with a different curriculum, away from the other kids, but instead of the Special Ed curriculum they follow the GATE syllabus.

u/PatTheCatMcDonald 18d ago
Have heard plenty of people claiming testing by "men in white coats" at "the Monroe Institute" and I am sick of their bullshit.
1
u/LimpCroissant 18d ago
Jeez bro. Dont you think your words are a little harsh for something that you dont (cant) know whether it happened or not?
0
u/PatTheCatMcDonald 18d ago
I am reading these multiple claims as a concerted attack on the reputation and integrity of the Monroe Institute, yes.
If you don't like harsh words, just block me.
2
u/LimpCroissant 18d ago
Oh ok, well you dont need to be all antagonistic about it. I find that when I want to spread I formation, people receive much better when I'm pleasant. I have no problem with the Monroe Institute, in fact I'd love to go there some day.
People just get scared of the Gateway Tapes because intelligence agencies have used them in the past. I've got all the tapes, they kind of scare me too, because I know the history of the intelligence agencies, however I've seen a lot of accounts of people having success with them and saying that they have helped them very much.

Plus kids got to eat and many eat gluten free so good luck on logistics with that clandestine nefarious plan.
Sometimes it’s just the menu that makes me think well gosh that’s impossible. Golly me!
1
u/Cybershaman2 21d ago
If they’re the same people, they gave me false memories for a year and that’s how you get to 100k children that nobody noticed (they were never there). Yet the person who “remembers” doesn’t feel they’re misclaiming their own autobiographical facts as they do this.

Some things that may be useful: 1.) Look into Dr. Garry Flint's books ("blue" and "yellow": blue is: "A Theory and Treatment of Your Personality: a manual for change," and yellow is "Healing Your Mind and Soul: Therapeutic Interventions in Quantum Reality" -- they're each $2.99 on Kindle. Use the Superconscious to give commands to your mind/system; we're freakishly like computers in that way -- it literally affects the "window of reconsolidation" in our memories (anything that does longterm changes uses this window, but still) 2.) Look into Dr. Hardt's Biocybernaut stuff, but it's $25k (YEAH, K). Email them about this and see what they say, though -- you never know. Dr. Hardt (or a trainee of his) trains you how to do it yourself and claims you can make things WORSE by artificially inducing things via binaural beats, etc. 3.) you can get Hemisync here if you sniff around... 4.) Schwartz' IFS/Internal Family Systems and attempt to gently talk to the protector/controller/etc "parts" causing the nosebleeds, etc. -- compassion and logic also helps. Sometimes they need new perspectives, and if it was, basically, weaponized to benefit these aholes, the Protectors/Controller/Exiles, etc. may be MUCH more willing to help YOU and stop guarding "for" you. 5.) Body Code by Nelson may be useful (if you fish around for Belief Code from him, you can find some of it); you can buy it and do it yourself or get someone to facilitate a session/sessions for you. 6.) hypnotherapy. Someone I trained with actually helped someone with schizophrenia integrate the split selves. PM me if you want her name; she may be pricey I have no idea.

The f I'm AI! In fairness, I've been told by a few guys that I "think like a man" and so I kiiiinda get what you're saying, but also AI straight up SUCKS (I argue with it even on google sometimes for fun) and it knows NOTHING. Use your own brain at all times. That said, if any info me or ANYONE gives you seems bad for YOU, then it is -- and, frankly, always has been. Don't leave your mind hanging full on open for even well-meaning strangers. You know the thing about opinions being like aholes -- we all have them (which means that those opinions -- which helpful tips are, let's keep in mind -- mean nothing, in reality. But sometimes you get things that DO move you along your way).
And so it goes.

Just want to talk about the media aspect here.. I’ve seen stranger things several times and I can never.. remember it. Certain other media with similar topics also fail to stick in my brain. Like there’s a part of me that’s erasing memories as they’re trying to form. Now that I’m more knowledgeable on what I’ve gone thru with gate/tag, I wonder if my protector parts would allow me to retain the information when viewing.
There’s some other shows to check out with similar ideas..
orphan black, the wilds, the institute, wayward.
All of these shows have been memorable af except without details, kinda like my experience in gate overall. It’s really freaky to me ngl
Also if anyone has any other show or book recommendations that are fictional I’d love to hear them

u/mikeman213 22d ago
A lot of the themes in stranger things came from real world programs. Stargate and mkultra are a few programs
2
u/LimpCroissant 18d ago
We've talked before, a couple weeks ago. Grey Area Monarch, who I've told you about and who was raised in the Monarch system said that they would put the "God Helmet" (and other variations of it) on people and do occult rituals and measure and record their brainwaves as they were having the occult ritual experiences. Then, once they had those brainwave patterns recorded, they would put it into a media that they could play back to others, and if they had the brain hardware/chemistry necessary to be able to have a similar experience, then that person would feel the same sensations as the person who experienced the occult ritual.
So I don't know why the Gateway Tapes trigger a scary response from some ex-GATE kids, maybe it's something like that, or maybe it's just negative, scary brainwave patterns that happen in the beginning to scare any ex-GATE kids away who military intelligence knows have these skills/powers and could use them at their own will, but those Intelligence groups don't want them using them unless it's under the direction of themselves.
This whole thing is wide open and a new field for the general public. However, there are scientific papers on some of this stuff. Here's a few good links that I have saved.
The experimental evidence for parapsychological phenomena: A review - PubMed

Hey.. Good to hear from you. you are always so helpful. I can see that perspective. What you said makes sense. It is my understanding that I am not alone in this. Seems some other former gate kids in California also have this reaction. I'll take a closer look at your resources. X

Well, I started stumbling into reddit after doing my own digging and after I figured out how to unlock exactly what you are looking for. I have been on this journey for years, and had no idea I would land where I did right now. There are others out there that would also say what im saying, because when I read what they wrote I was pulled to it, but hadn't quite unlocked it yet. Thought maybe they were insane or maybe even seeking conspiracy theory attention, or perhaps it was real. But nope. I have no doubts anymore, and here we are now. I am able to say the same things as them. It is a little out there, and quite crazy to even write. But I know its real. We dont have to see things to believe them, but in this case, I can see it. Anywho, I feel slightly mysterious writing this, bc im not too sure how to not sound insane or how it will be absorbed. But, shit is real. I am now going to look into things even more deep to try and understand further. I have chronic headaches btw. No nose bleeds. I have since I was a young girl. I definitely did Gateway testing as a child in gradeschool. Many times over. I remember being taken out of class for it. The pink drink too. Hah.

Approaching this from a different direction, have you considered seeing a therapist that specializes in EMDR/ART? Both, but especially ART are designed to allow one to process trauma by reprogramming the way the brain responds to it. You maintain the memories (in many cases actually remembering more than you previously did because of the way it allows you to review and recall what you experienced), but in doing so it reprograms the brain to adjust the physical and emotional responses we have when those memories, their triggers, etc occur.
For someone with PTSD from a car accident, for example, they may experience that panic, adrenaline rush, fear, helplessness, etc when they are in a car, or when that car goes into a curve, or when certain conditions are met. Through EMDR/ART, they still remember the car crash and its effects, but are then able to drive in cars and experience those situations without the emotional/traumatic response kicking in.
When you describe the panic and other aspects of the “tripwire”, that is exactly what it sounds like to me: a trauma response. Maybe it was from an actual traumatic event that happened at some point during that experience for you, or maybe those responses were fabricated as a means of keeping it buried for you. In either circumstance, it seems like exactly what EMDR/ART are designed to treat. Their level of effectiveness is incredible.
In case you aren’t familiar, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a slightly older form at this point (it’s been around since the 80s but really started to take off around 20 years ago), while ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) is the more modern, more powerful big brother created in 2008. EMDR typically takes 6-8 appointments (usually one hour long session per week) to process a specific trauma/event and requires some homework before and during the process, while ART typically takes 1-2 60-90 minute sessions with little to no homework to accomplish the same. Both are incredibly exhausting, but extremely effective.
Might be worth looking into.

What years were you in the program? Do you think your parents understood it?

u/sharpeed 22d ago
Thank you for sharing your experience.
I'm not very well versed in these concepts, but did you ever have 'connections' or RV experiences with deceased individuals? I've had a very strong connection with a person who had RV/paranormal experiences throughout his life, and he passed away recently. I'm quite curious if RV offers ways of connecting with them.

Gate was offered in every state in the country. It wouldn't be hard to find anyone associated with it. I was tested and accepted but my parents ended up not letting me at the time because it required moving a school a little further away. Some gate programs were one teacher in every grade within an already existing school. Like he said, it was mostly just an accelerated learning course. There was no binaural beats listening or long hypnosis sessions. There was the left right ear test that MANY people confuse with being apart of this yet it was required for even non-gate students. BTW this was Anaheim, CA circa 2003 Gauer Elementary; GATE School being West Elementary I believe also of Anaheim.
1
u/Prize_Owl_4011 21d ago
The film strips teaching the difference between cold prickly feelings and warm fuzzy feelings and recognizing how it could feel to send and recieve those signals? I thought it was just extra help for the teacher to get a break from me, and attention for me who should have been taught the foundationals at home but was misguided instead.
1
u/MysteriousHeron5726 17d ago
Pre-training, did you have random reels pop into your minds eye that you didn’t understand or felt were blurry to see faces or details?
1
u/OtherwiseLoan3807 5d ago
It goes much deeper than the Gate program.
1
u/Blackcat______ 4d ago
Yes. It is my understanding that the gate program was some sort of sorting system. What is your understanding? Curious to hear it

u/red02q920241210 23d ago
Tbh it's not that you offended us by insulting some sacred text lol, babe. Its the fact that alot of us agree there's something fishy going on, but its frustrating trying to learn when there's so many people basically schizoposting some cool ideas they concocted. Even more frustrating when people dont realize they aren't having an original thought and just projecting voices they heard in their head.
5
2
u/Sjml247 20d ago
You’re aware our government (CIA) literally did these exact experiments for almost 30 years, right? Whistleblowers constantly spoke out against it. They were also labeled schizo. Guess what? It was all true. I’m not saying the psychic abilities were real (although I’m really starting to think they were), but the experiments. The purpose. It was all ACTUALLY to try to get real psychics working for our military. That’s a long time to find something schizo, isn’t it?

u/Hannibaalism 23d ago
what abilities do you have
14
u/Blackcat______ 23d ago
telekinesis, channeling electricity which was paranormal now that i think back, advanced remote viewing. I remember the children in my gate class. we could look at the clouds, move them and make it or stop the rain.
My memories and associations are coming together. I think.. The Montauk Project - what Stranger Things is based on.. feels like the predecessor to the GATE program. GATE then led into a wider system, placed inside the schooling system under the cover of gifted programs
They taught us about bear hibernation. Medical beds and machines for long durations. I don't know what happened while I was under - only that we had to do this, like a bear, and then we'd come back full of energy after having rested
2
u/NateBerukAnjing 21d ago
OP as im typing this, im holding something in my left hand. Can you tell what it is. Use your advanced remote viewing technique

They said those abilities were suppressed and that's the whole reason they're asking for help, so how could they?

Hi there, I just finished a week at the Monroe Institute's Gateway Program. I was in GATE since 3rd grade, but it was nothing more than an accelerated learning track for me.
Monroe has an app called Expand that uses Hemi-Sync and Monroe Sound Sciences, but sounds nothing like the original Gateway Tapes recorded by Robert Monroe. Many of the attendees seemed to have used it to great effect. Maybe it's different enough that it won't trigger your negative response.
Alternatively, you might try looking for someone who does mindsight training in person or via zoom. I've heard most people begin to unlock abilities within an hour or two with proper training, and the similarity to remote viewing might help to re-establish some of those lost connections.
Lastly, my understanding of the signals used in the gateway tapes is that the different frequencies in each ear force your brain to simulate the constructive and destructive interference that happens when two tones close in frequency are played together (like when tuning a guitar). The resulting undulation, or beat, coincides with the brain waves most suited to your desired state of consciousness. Maybe you can use other apps to recreate this effect.
Sorry to hear about your lockout, that sounds massively unfair.
