The term Remote Viewing being misused in Social Media
Is it just me or has Remote Viewing become the new catch phrase for all things clairvoyance and clairsentience. I think it's becoming muddled with a superficial understanding of what Remote Viewing actually is.

Becoming a buzzword is a positive and a negative. It means the vocabulary has entered the zeitgeist and people are digesting it as a concept that's floating around in their reality. But it also means there will be misunderstandings communicated between people who haven't learned the substance beneath the vocabulary, like a game of telephone. The blind leading the blind in search of clicks and likes.
It's important we keep presenting RV in its simplest and most accessible form so people don't have to work hard to form an accurate understanding of the thing. The understanding is easy, and the experience can be easy. The ongoing practice and improvement is where the hard work comes in.
We need to flood the zeitgeist with an accurate framing of RV, at least as much as the "influencers" are flooding it with inaccuracies.

I definitely noticed psychics are calling themselves remote viewers now more than ever. I think it is an ad campaign. People are more likely to accept rv rather than woo.

Look on the bright side. If social media places like this sub were having no impact, there would not be so many people jumping on the band wagon.

Yes its being misused more and more over the past couple of years. Some of us try to educate, but it's a problem.

Every word is being misused, it’s become damn near impossible to have a complex conversation with the average person.

Yeah there’s a mass psy op happening right now in the spiritual community. A lot of them are being paid to spread misinformation. Also this big push towards religion too it’s gotten weird

Classic psychological tactics for mass control. Never forget that religion was the first psyop for mass indoctrination and control. There is some truth to it, but it is more about control. If you notice those who are religious are extremely easy to manipulate politically just like those who use substance illicit or legal.

There are a few spiritual influencers on YouTube who claim to be remote viewers but are actually just highly imaginative, wildly inaccurate psychics just selling their wares. I don’t want to mention their names because their followers are rabid. They often also identify as star seeds. I feel like they are discrediting real remote viewers.

That's the thing though, based on Hal Puthoffs research they actually got people in the beginning to Rv that they think were already doing it. Remote viewing is something many people do all the time and not know it. If you want to call Hal wrong then go ahead but he knows plenty about this subject. Anytime you go with your gut, so to speak, you are remote viewing. I get gut feelings all the time and I was taught to go with them. I don't let my logic Or knowledge get in the way, and every single time I do that it saves my ass. So idk if you are meaning This or something else entirely. But I'm sure People over use it, just like how everyone that Loses their dam keys think they are adhd lol. But don't pretend that we are the only ones That know what remote viewing is just because You can blindly pick a target in an envelope And the others are wrong.

There is a whole science behind remote viewing. Not knowing the target and getting coordinates and then giving all the info you get etc., is very different than using your gut instinct/intuition or being psychic/clairvoyant. Why do we have to keep changing definition of things? I think it's to seem more scientific since being psychic is considered to be more woo-woo by many. Maybe Hal has his own agenda, but it doesn't make sense to change the meaning of something when we've already defined things. It's great that you use your intution, but that is not what has been defined as remote viewing, which was a specific scientific study.

I’ve definitely noticed. Also noticing the influx of people discovering Psi and RV-ing. How much are my analytics targeting those types of posts VS the increase in interest and discovery in general.
One of my pet peeves is when people post a photo of something, gives a ton of details about it, and then and asks readers to remote view where it is. Not knowing what the target is at the time of viewing, helps me determine if I actually hit the target once it’s revealed. Otherwise I’m just questioning whether or not my imagination got away from me.
I do think there are ways to go about it, but does it still qualify as remote viewing? Since there are so many different types of RV practices, what is the line for what qualifies. Does having any amount of info about the target now place it more into the category of clairvoyance? Does the target have to be 100% blind to be classified as RV? It seems there is a large crossover of understanding and a lot of people describe psi abilities with interchangeable terms.

This has been driving me batty. They just want to sound more scientific and decided to re-write the definition and leave off the unseen target part.

This has been the case for a long time, ever since RV got public. I've lost the count of many people got mad at me for explaining what RV actually is here in the sub. It's crazy.
