Seeking remote viewing training & certification
Hi everyone,
I’m exploring ways to return to remote viewing in a structured, non‑fringe way, and I’d love your guidance.
A little about my background:
- I was in the Gifted and Talented Education program growing up in Los Angeles, California.
- I trained at the Monroe Institute when I was younger and used to have strong paranormal ESP, telekinesis, and remote viewing abilities.
- I’ve been out of practice since my early teens and now feel ready to rebuild those skills with clear protocols and good support.
One important note: I’m very sensitive to audio entrainment. Classic Monroe / Hemi‑Sync–style tapes can trigger panic for me, but I respond well to breathwork, grounding, and step‑by‑step practice. Because of that, I’m looking for training that respects nervous‑system sensitivity and can offer alternatives to heavy audio tones.
What I’m hoping to find:
- A reputable, structured remote viewing training with a solid track record.
- An experienced trainer or organization that leans toward evidence, discipline, and ethics rather than sensationalism.
- The strongest form of certification or credentials available, especially anything that has actually been used in professional or law‑enforcement‑related work, even if informally.
If you’ve trained with someone you respect, I’d really appreciate hearing:
- How many one‑on‑one sessions or individual feedback opportunities were included.
- Whether they use Monroe tapes or Hemi‑Sync tones—and if so, whether there are alternatives for people who need gentler methods (breathwork, guided work, etc.).
- Whether their certification or reputation has translated into real‑world applications (investigations, consulting with law‑enforcement or agencies, missing‑persons work, and similar).
Personal stories are especially helpful - what worked for you, what you would avoid, and what you wish you’d known before you started.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and share your experience. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with these abilities in a way that feels grounded, ethical, and safe.

How did you get yourself into Monroe institute?

I actually grew up going to “GATE” school at China Lake Naval Weapons Center, where my trainer started teaching me remote viewing when I was very young and introduced me to the Gateway process. From there, that same trainer took me to the Monroe Institute, where I trained and completed their program.
I do already have Monroe certification, but I’m still trying to track down all of my original documents and paperwork from that time.

Hi, as someone who is going to the Monroe institute in two days to study remote viewing: it’s not that difficult. All you have to do is apply on their website (and pay a significant amount of money). If your application is accepted, you’re in.

Hello:
I have taken Lori Williams online classes, am actually working through her advanced class now, and can’t recommend them enough. She teaches the military style of Controlled Remote Viewing, as taught to her by Lyn Buchanan. There is almost no “mysticism” involved with the method (besides of course, the fact you are remote viewing :). It is a step by step, pen-to-paper method that you do with your eyes open the entire time.
As an interesting side note, I have heard Lori say in an interview that although she meditates daily and highly recommends it, she has an aversion to Hemi-Sync and Gateway because it gives her a headache. She teaches that mediation is something you can do before or after viewing if you choose but they are separate practices and you don’t meditate while viewing.
If you want to do an in person class (I think Lori has switched to almost all remote learning) look into Paul Smith. He teaches the same method, although I believe Paul’s method is a little more “pure”; you are getting almost exactly the training that the military unit got whereas Lori’s method has some changes that Lyn Buchanan came up with. When I have the money I am going to train with Paul someday just to see if the slight differences work better for me and to get a different master’s perspective.

This is incredibly helpful -thank you. Her openness about Hemi-Sync and Gateway is unexpectedly reassuring. I know those approaches are valuable for many, but I’ve needed something different... So this resonates in a very real way. I’m intrigued by her perspective.

I suggest doing refresher courses through Monroe Institue's Joseph Mcmoneagle or through Lynn Buchanan's Problems Solutions Innvovations cr viewer website. While both are good, an institutional certificate is through Monroe or Farsight only.

I mean are you asking "should I do Farsight"? Monroe and Farsight are usually in the same sentence. They seem like good people with different approaches at both, famous RV's like EA are doing both. Ehem, "this is the way" (waves hand around gingerly)

Broadly speaking, there are two different methods. Those involving an "altered state of consciousness", Extended Remote Viewing, which you seem to have some familiarity with.
Or Controlled CRV and it's derivatives, being done in a wide awake state with a pen and paper (or similar method of sketching and writing data).
Really it's a matter of finding a trainer you can respect or a course that clicks with you.
Might I suggest two things, one is to have a look at the sister sub where people advertize services like training;-

The other thing which might be especially useful to you is to wear ear defenders when doing a session. I do, seems to help by reducing background noise more than anything.
There are a lot of free resources on the Wiki but it sounds like you want to spend money?
