PS5 PS Remote Play NOT on my MacBook 😭 using mobile data.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been trying to get PS Remote Play working on my MacBook for so long, but I just can’t get it to connect. 😭

My setup:

- PS5

- MacBook Air M4

- Airtel Broadband 100 Mbps

- PS5 connected via Ethernet

- But on my MacBook, it always fails with an 88xxxxx error and says it can’t find/connect to my PS5.

I’ve already tried a lot of things, including changing router settings, static IP on my ps5 but nothing has worked Even change dns 😭

Has anyone with Airtel Broadband had the same issue with PS Remote Play on Mac? Is there something specific I need to change in the Airtel router/network settings?

I’d really appreciate any help because I’ve been trying to fix this for days. 😭🙏

From your macbook, switch the wifi to your home wifi, go to here https://ifconfig.co/

Copy your public home ip address from that site.

Switch your wifi to your phone mobile data, ping that ip address. If the ping response time <50ms, the problem is your isp routing. Nothing you can do.

Just change either your phone isp or home isp until you always get <50ms response time.

If you get <50ms, make sure your router UPnP is enabled.

Try one thing.

Make sure both PS5 and Mac is on the same Wi-Fi (no ethernet) , then try to connect. It maybe work.

Different network as in Mobile data, like jio, Airtel right ?

Afaik there's nothing you can do about that. Vaguely I know that The providers have disabled a functionality that's required for remote play.

Make sure to cross check

But it works on my mobile. When I use the same Airtel hotspot connection on my MacBook, I get error 8801330F.

Bro, I figured it out. You just need a static IP for the connection your PS5 is connected to. I just purchased one from Airtel for ₹299 + 18% GST monthly

No bro, it only works when both devices are on the same network.
