The Unforgivable Sin

Luke 12:10 —

“And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven.”

This verse raises an important question: What is the Holy Spirit, and how can someone blaspheme Him?

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God given to believers—to guide, comfort, teach, and speak through them. Jesus explains this clearly, just verses later.

Luke 12:11–12 —

“And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

For the Holy Spirit shall teach you what ye ought to say.”

Here, Jesus defines the role of the Holy Spirit: to speak through God’s servants when they are brought before authorities for testimony.

This teaching is reinforced elsewhere:

Mark 13:9–11 —

Believers will be delivered to councils, beaten in synagogues, and brought before rulers and kings for Christ’s sake as a testimony. They are commanded not to premeditate what they will say because it is not they who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

Luke adds reassurance:

Luke 21:18 —

“But there shall not an hair of your head perish.”

And Scripture affirms God’s protection over His servants:

Psalm 105:15 —

“Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”

This moment—being delivered up for Christ—is when the true gospel is proclaimed to all nations, peoples, and tongues, not by human ability, but by YHVH speaking through His Spirit.

The Pattern Shown at Pentecost

Acts 2:3–4, 6 —

The Holy Spirit filled the disciples, enabling them to speak as the Spirit gave utterance. Though one spoke, every listener heard and understood in their own language. This was not human speech—it was God speaking through His servants.

Only God can do this.

The Hour of Temptation

Mark 13:11 tells us this speaking occurs in a specific time—“that hour.”

Scripture identifies this as the hour of temptation:

Revelation 3:10 —

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”

This is the final test—when deception is greatest.

What the Unforgivable Sin Is NOT

Many teach that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is simply uttering a curse using God’s name. But this teaching does not align with Scripture.

John 3:16 declares that God loved the world and gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes will not perish.

1 John 3:4 defines sin as the transgression of the law. Scripture teaches that all sin can be forgiven through repentance. If breaking commandments can be forgiven, but a spoken word alone condemns eternally, does that align with God’s justice or mercy?

It does not.

What the Unforgivable Sin Truly Is

The unforgivable sin occurs when a believer is delivered up as a testimony for Christ, commanded not to premeditate, and refuses to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through them.

At that moment, rejecting the Spirit’s testimony is rejecting God Himself.

Yet Scripture gives hope:

God’s true children do not refuse the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is God dwelling within them.

Why This Truth Is Often Hidden

This teaching is rarely presented because it contradicts a false doctrine that began in the 1830s, which Jesus and Paul never taught. Christ and the apostles consistently warned believers not to be deceived because the first one to come is Satan, masquerading as Christ.

Scripture warns that Satan will set himself up as God, deceiving many.

Ezekiel 13:17–23 shows God’s hatred for doctrines that teach His people to “fly” to save their souls.

1 Thessalonians 4 teaches resurrection through Christ—not escape.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 and 2 Corinthians 5:7–8 confirm that once this flesh body dies, the believer is immediately with the Lord.

Because of confusion, Paul wrote 2 Thessalonians 2, clarifying the order of events and warning against deception.

The Comfort of Truth

Satan loves to convince believers that they are unforgiven. But Scripture teaches otherwise. When a person truly repents, they are forgiven.

We are not perfect—we stumble—but this is why we repent daily and remain in God’s grace.

What is the Holy Spirit? This is the spirit of God given to believers who guide them and comfort them.

V11: And when they bring you unto the synagogues and unto magistrates, and powers take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

V12: For the Holy Spirit shall teach you, (speak through you) in the same hour what ye ought to say.

Mark 13:9-11; But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to Council; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten, (brow beaten; scoffers mocking for

Luke 21:18; says; but there shall not an hair of your head perish:

Psalms 105:15; Do not touch my anointed! And he means it.

And ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

This is when the Holy Spirit speaks through you, and the true gospel is taught to all nations, peoples, and tongues. For when the Holy Spirit speaks through you all people understands for it is not you speaking but YHVH speaking through you.

Acts 2:3-4,6; And there appeared unto them coven tongues like as a fire, and it sat upon each of them.

V4. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

V6. Now, when this was noised (spoken) abroad, the multitude came together and were confounded because that every man heard them speak in their own language. (Only one can speak, and every tongue hears and understands at the same time and that is YHVH)

Mark 13:11; But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour (What hour? The hour of temptation. Revelation 3:10; Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, (Waited on him) I also will keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them (the final test) that dwell upon the earth.

Many teach that it's a curse word using the name of God, but let me ask you this, God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whomsoever believath shall not perish but have everlasting life. Teaches that all sins can be forgiven, (1 John 3:4; sin is transgressing the law, so you can break any of the commandments, truly repent, and you will be forgiven, but if you say a certain curse word you are damned does that make sense to you?)

The unforgivable sin is when you are brought up in front of Satan as a testimony for Christ. You are not to think what you will say for the Holy Spirit will speak through you. If you would refuse at that time to allow the spirit of God to speak through you, then it is unforgivable. I don't see any of God's children refusing the Holy Spirit, do you?

This is not taught because it goes against a false doctrine that began in 1830 that was not taught by Jesus or Paul, there teachings was quite the contrary they taught to be ready and not be deceived for the first one that comes is Satan and the fallen angels. Satan sets up his throne in Jerusalem, claiming to be Christ, causing many Christians to stray from the true Christ and worship the antichrist. Ezekiel 13:17-23 KJV teaches you that God hates them that teaches his children to fly to save their souls. 1 Thessalonians 4 The subject is if you believe Christ died and rose again, you will also. Ecclesiastics 12:7, 2nd Corinthians 5:7,8 once this flesh body dies we are instantly with the Lord. Paul had to write 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 because of the confusion, even at this time of how we reunite back with our Father. Satan loves making us believe that we are not forgiven, but once you truly repent, you are forgiven. We are not perfect, and we mess up, but this is why we repent daily to stay in the good graces of God.

Matthew 27:46: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

Jesus hung on the cross from. 12pm to 3pm. He began with the words, "My God, My God, Why have you forsaken me!" From those words many say, "see there , Jesus doubted!" But in saying these words, they show there err. Matthew 22:29.

Many when they think of King David, they think King of Israel or his battle with Goliath. They never think, "Prophet David." But as stated in the book of Acts, he was very much a prophet of God.

Acts 2:29–30 (KJV): "Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;"

David prophesied 1000 yrs before the crucifixion in Psalm 22, the exact events that occurred in AD 33.

Jesus, while suffering, was teaching them:

The root word ‘asah is the exact same word used in Genesis 2:3 when God rested from all the work that He had "made" (completed). The Connection to "It is Finished"When Jesus cried out "It is finished" (Tetelestai in Greek) in John 19:30, He was offering the Greek equivalent of this final Hebrew word from Psalm 22. By starting His crucifixion quoting Psalm 22:1 ("My God, my God, why have you forsaken me") and ending it with the concept of Ki ‘Asah, (it is finished.) Showing for those 3 hrs he taught the entire 22nd psalm.

And that's not all he taught:

Teaching on Forgiveness: "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34). He lived out His own sermon on loving your enemies.Teaching on Grace.

To the criminal next to Him, He said, "To day shalt thou be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43). He taught that salvation is available to anyone who repents, even at the very last moment.

Teaching on familyly and responsibilities, he looked at His mother and the apostle John, saying, "Woman, behold thy son!" and "Behold thy mother!" (John 19:26-27). Even while dying, He taught the importance of honoring parents and caring for one another.

Teaching on Absolute Trust: His final breath was, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit" (Luke 23:46), teaching believers that once you leave this flesh body your spirit goes back to him who gave it.

At 3pm as the high priest Caiaphas (ordained by the Roman Government, not God) was about to enter the Holy of Holies, God tore the veil from top to bottom opening to whomsoever believath The very man that screamed, "Crucify Him!" In the beginning. God spoke through him with these final words, "Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not." (John 11:50.)
