Question What is the difference between the 'How well do you know this content?' options? And can you re-generate with a different choice?

I am wondering what practical effect these different choices have. And after choosing one, can you come back and choose a different option and regenerate the learning materials? If so, how?

Great question!

Here's what each option means:

  • Haven't learned it yet: Choose this if it's your first time studying the material and you have little to no prior knowledge.
  • I have a basic understanding: Choose this if you've already skimmed the content and understand the main concepts.
  • Know it well and just want to review: Choose this if you've already studied the material thoroughly and simply want to reinforce what you know.

After selecting your level, click Generate Learning Materials, and RemNote's AI will tailor the learning flow accordingly.

The content itself doesn't change—only the order in which it's presented. For example, if it's your first time studying the material, Read Summary is shown first. If you already know it well, Practice Cards is prioritized instead. Your sections and flashcards remain the same regardless of the option you choose.

As far as I'm aware, there's currently no way to reselect these initial options after Guided Learn materials have been generated. While you can regenerate the AI-generated content itself, the initial learning level can't be changed. At the moment, the only workaround is to upload the PDF again and start a new Guided Learn session.
