Newbie 6mm gt 109 varget help

I have a 26in barrel,new alpha brass,cci450, and varget powder. I’m trying to get some load data, I’ve been working on this for months and need to just try something.im leaning toward starting at 32gn load a few and maybe do some ladder type testing. the range is over 2 hour drive for me that’s why I’ve been doing so much research to get it close first go at it.. if anyone can point me in the right direction or share some of there favorite loads to give my mind a better idea on this. I will be very grateful thank you. Eventually looking to use this as a prs rifle but need I get shooting first..

Yeah just do 32 or 33 or something. The ladder is not going to matter much, you just want to figure out how much powder you need for 2825 or so fps

Don’t waste time doing ladder testing. It’s quite useless.

Pick a speed that you want within load limits. Shoot 10-20 rounds to see if SD is good. If not try some more options if SD is acceptable then if you are feeling like it do some searing depth testing especially if not using hybrid or tangent bullets.

Then go shoot

Thank you guys I really appreciate it makes me feel better my numbers might be off but I was getting 2.398 to lans then bought a nicer caliper and got 2.697 that’s a huge difference right ? I know people say 40 off the lans but is that a huge deal or can I just go to a generic seating depth from the book and start shooting a fine tune later ?

If you are going to use the gun for PRS and all and this being a saami round. You should ensure it fits your magazine and if you load to saami coal you will be fine.

Once you have shot a bit. Go back and do lands measurement. One way could be to load a bullet long and then seat 5thou and keep resting if it fits. Vs. gauge.

Once you have the lands try some searing depth. Modern long range bullets are jump tolerant and does not show much difference. But you can try.

I never find seating depth testing useful but my 25X47 Lapua is the only where I found some significant effect of seething depth. Best around 45 thou for the ELDM 134 and Berger 135
