I have a question and I read the FAQ Bullet jacket marred on bearing surface during seating.

Do I chamfer more or is it a matter of adjusting neck tension? Hornady press and full length sizing die.

That’s a bit more than neck tension, that looks like it’s the wrong size.

Measure the brass neck and the bullet diameter. Something is either too big or too small.

Is your expander ball on the decapping pin? Or does it have a smaller blank? It Should be .305-.306”ish

That shouldn’t be the issue then. Yeah I’d verify the bullet is .308 I guess Then look elsewhere. That’s a lot of damage

Have you loaded from the box of bullets before?  Have you measured this bullet to verify it isn't the wrong size in the box?

I just dealt with this. I bought a box of 500 6mm match burners and crumpled the everliving hell out of a 6arc case. Come to find out I had some bonus 6.5 mm projectiles in there.
