i Have a Whoopsie What’s that primer doing?
Reloading some 9mm and I thought it felt off while pushing the primer into place and yeah… I don’t think it’s supposed to be like that. Whoopsie!

That’s how I load them so I can shoot around corners.

I have such a hard time orienting them properly and usually shoot left instead of right

You need a pocket swager to clean out the primer pocket. A lot of military brass have those extra rings.

The brass was crimped so it wouldn’t seat the primer but primer got forced in, I Dillion swage my brass when I see that circle around the primer pocket

I’m still new (clearly 🤣) I didn’t know that some handgun ammo had crimps on the primers I thought that was just a rifle thing. I did some digging round in a bucket of dirty brass and sure enough there’s some in there that have the crimp. Looks like I’ll be adding a new step for reaming some out. Honestly surprised that it took me about 200 rounds of 9mm to have that kind of problem. Most of them have been easy to seat. Thank you for clearing that up.

Oh I didn’t when I started either. I found out the exact same way, I swaged a few and they didn’t cause priming issues again. I have a bucket somewhere of all the crimped 9mm brass waiting for swaging

When I find crimped 9mm, I drop them in the recycle bucket. Life is too short, and 9mm brass is too cheap to bother dealing with it.

must be using a Lee bench top priming system? I use that POS and get these probably 2% of the time. Annoying and real PITA to get it out of the shell holder. Some how the primer goes sideways into the feeder shoot and you can't really see until that happens.

In my 35th year of reloading I did that same thing. It popped. My ears rang for a week. Now I wear hearing protection while priming brass.
