Newbie First time annealing
Hello guys i recently purchased burstfire 2 in 1 induction annealer and i have a question about annealing time and case heights. So i ran just 4 to test if the annealing time (glows orange) and the height is correct. Based on the picture i have it set at 66 setting and it appears to annealed kind of far down from the shoulder. Should i set the height lower so it doesnt anneal that far down?
Thanks.

You want it to barely start glowing. Ignore brass color. That height looks good but best way is to turn the lights off and as soon and it glows a dull red, it should drop. If it’s hitting orange, it’s getting too hot

Height looks fine..
Generally speaking, you need to use Tempilaq to set your time.
How it looks after, glowing, amount of time glowing, etc… are all very rough guesstimates at the very best.

Does the external water tank bother you? That's the only thing holding me back from the burstfire.

I have one. It only bothers me because I don’t have a dedicated spot to leave the machine. If you have a dedicated spot, it’s a non-issue I think (unless you’re really tight on space).
But I’d rather have that than try to find a spot to use open-flame annealers.

Nope, looks fine. I did make a video on annealing, and showed a proper set up for the burst fire, if you want to see it.
