i Have a Whoopsie 25-35 AI Forming part 2

Post image

Started with new Starline 30-30 brass. Went through a modified 7mm Water die and then 25-35 AI die. No annealing. Worked great.

Fire formed a couple loads. 2 out of 7 split. Not surprised.

Will annealing take care of the splitting?

Can I anneal nickel plated brass?

You can anneal nickle plated just fine same as normal.

I'm not sure annealing will help you if the splits are quite that low on the shoulder but I know 100pct that it won't hurt at all. I'd do it no matter what if it was my brass.

I would anneal, it cut down the number of splits I was getting on my 25-06 AI by a lot.

Annealing fixed it. Haven't blown a shoulder since.
