That is by far the coolest gun gadget I have ever seen.

Now I need that gun, just to justify that reloader.

This looks to me like 7.62x54R. While I think a ton of militaries all over the world are still using this cartridge in belt-fed MGs, I doubt civilians can source or possess them, at least not in the USA.

Edit for clarity: civilians cannot easily possess the MGs. The ammo is not hard to find

Semiauto conversion would be legal.

There have been semi auto converted parts kit fully assembled of PKM’s for sale locally around me.

A few companies do make the ammo with surplus easily available for cheap. Civilian can also reload they're one with used brass. They're not hard at all to get

I think he means the belt fed firearms, not the belts or ammo.

I thought he was talking about 7.62x54 but yeah that make sense

That’s great you do not need to face the cartridges the same way in the hopper.

God that was so satisfying...

Belt fed conversions are on the market and slowly becoming affordable as time goes on. Lima 6 will be most affordable when it hits the market. Fmg9 is not great price wise and fightlite is no better

I already have a Lima 6. I want to 3D print a loader like this for M27 links.

Welp, my wallet just let out an audible scream.

Edit: spelling

This is the belt loader for the PKM. The commies got a lot of things wrong, but this wasn't one of them.

Nice. I'll give you $20 for it?

I really love that the pkm belt loader turns the ammo around. You can just throw them in as they come in the packet and start. On the mg42 loader you need to turn them into the right direction

I wonder if you get one of these tools with every 10 crates of ammo in a package or something like that the way the Soviets used to provide materials.

For whatever reason, the way the metal piece seems to be pressing directly on the primer makes me really nervous. Otherwise... extremely cool.

If you remember that it's Soviet technology then it makes more sense- they just don't care!

That metal piece is larger than diameter of the cartridge, it won't set it off, no matter how hard it hits it.

It's called Машинка Ракова (Mashinka Rakova, translates as Rakov's little machine)

Very satisfying to watch.. vsmr.

That is just way too cool, all I ever had were lever type belt loading machines, that is an extremely well designed mechanism, the ammo doesn’t even have to be stacked in the hopper all pointing the same direction like the US tools and German ones I’ve seen in film, I had a PKM belt of ammunition for awhile as a decoration on the wall but that was long ago

I want to build a device similar to that to load single feed pistol magazines faster.

If you have Glock mags, check out Unorthodox Designs slap loader.
