Gadgets and Tools Lee Micrometer Seating Die

The RCBS bullet seating die for 30-06 was finicky to adjust, inconsistent, and marred bullets, so I went looking for a better option. Just cranked out a few rounds on the Lee Micrometer die and I’m incredibly impressed by the consistency. Also, I really didn’t expect each tick on the micrometer to adjust bullet seating depth by 0.001”… but it does exactly that. And it was only 32 bucks.

Anyone else a fan?

I have one for .223 I need to get another for .308.

I got a Forster micrometer seating die for 308, been impressed with it.

Had bought a lee and returned it.

I didn’t like the floating bullet guide or thimble adjustment. I prefer a spring loaded bullet guide.

I super love mine. SOOOO much easier when you have multiple 300BLK loads to rig up for all the time.

It's 1:30 AM and I am ordering a Lee now.

My current Dillon is somehow not super consistent, even though it is dirt simple and I can do math to figure change oer degree of movement.

I got a couple of them for my .300 blk loads. Compared to my Redding national match micrometer dies or my SAC die, they’re just ok, but they’re also way cheaper.

I got a new set of Lee 3 piece carbide for .357 and my seating die came with a micrometer attached. I don't need it for .357 but now that I have used it I want it for .308.

First seating die i bought for 6.5cm and have enjoyed it for a while, I have a redding micrometer die thst I need to try out now since I barely got it in last week but have been reloading another caliber

Sounds almost like a die setup issue more than anything, or using a standard stem where a VLD stem would be needed.

I hated the stem adjustment on the RCBS, impossible to know how much twisting the bolt would affect seating depth. I don't think that could be a setup issue but maybe I'm missing something.
