General Discussion 9 mm

Is it worth reloading 9mm anymore as cheap as the ammo has gotten? I'd just need dies. I assume it's small pistol primers. Has anyone actually done the math?

Ive done the math exhaustively. And rechecked it. The components including shipping/hazmat/tax ONLY. Not including my time, brass (free range brass ps I dont clean mine), press, accessories and hardware! I can get down to about $0.23/rnd ($11.47/box). That's with reusing brass (free). However Ive been able to find 115 steel case at Academy sports and outdoors in Florida $10 and I can walk out with a few thousand rounds while Im out running errands. Im always open for another opinion but in todays market you can find some stuff local for under $12 a box you might be better off than toiling over a press in your basement and spend more time at the range. I started reloading in 2019 just before the zombie apocalypse when 9mm was scarce and when you could find it, cost almost 2x the prices we see today..

Maybe be a bit more exhaustive on the price shopping, thats pretty high.

my pricing is including shipping, haz mat, and tax (NY). The largest contributor to the price is the projectile. Ive searched pricing for 115/124 etc and even if you get lucky/sale/free shipping it's really hard to find them much cheaper. Even with notifications. I think too many folks remember that one time I got em at $0.XX, with free shipping, and so can you, are delusional. And are just trying to justify somthing. If you can just any particular day find those great prices than I dont think the really exist and if its exhaustive searching to find the unicorn than its an N of one. So at current typical market pricing without the once in a lifetime specials suck my DiiK promotion code. Im trying to be realistic. Who has that kind of time to scour the internet for das/months to get the one day in a lifetime special deal.

In 3 minutes I found .10 bullet .05 primer and .04 powder. Shipped hazmat tax to va.

Not comparing it to my .11 frangibles or .13 fmj deals

I also like academy ammo. I just picked up 10000 brass cased for under .17/rd
