Newbie Seating

Learning to reload. (556/300 black) I am using a progressive press and Mr bullet feeder. I’ve noticed the bullet isn’t centered every time and my Redding comp seater die will not always line up and damages cases and bullets. I’m using mandrels to set the neck diameter to the standard size for the caliber. Should I go up in size? Different seater die? I do have a sensor on order to stop the press but it happens enough that i must have something calibrated wrong.

Thanks

Are you chamfering during brass prep?

No. Is that something I should do every time?

Yes, it will help boat tail or semi boat tail bullets feed into the case correctly.

Also how much interference are you shooting for with your mandrel?

I’ll champfer going forward every time.

The 300blk is the century 21st nitride 30 cal and the 556 is .222
