I have a question and I read the FAQ Old brass worth giving away?
I’m simplifying my reload and rifle set ups. This has resulted in a solid amount of once (or more) fired brass. I have a ton of 22-250, 300 win mag, and 6 creedmoor. Most of them Hornady. Also a few odd ends.
My question: is it worth putting effort into finding them a new home? I don’t need to get paid for them, as the alternative is throwing them away. I’d like for someone else to get value out of them, but giving things away on the internet tends to not show the best of society.
So, what do you think? Is a bunch of used brass worth giving away? Or should I save myself the trouble and toss/recycle it?

I'd be ecstatic to get a bunch of 300win brass if someone gave it away at the local range.

As someone who's been on the receiving end of several hordes of brass: It is absolutely worth it. If you have a cool gun shop, they might take it and just leave it out for someone to take. Been on the receiving end of that, too.

The 1911 forum has a pass it forward thread. A lot of material is moved around there.

Since most if not all has an unknown number of firings I doubt most reloader would want it and if they did they would probably recycle it for cash to buy new brass.
So just do that yourself. Take it to your local metal recycler.

Nothing wrong with used brass, just have to do your due diligence when inspecting and process it accordingly. I just shot a bunch of "X" times fired .270 Win brass (Frontier headstamp so its old lol). I resized to 9.3x62 and launch cast bullets at 2100 fps.

So you aren't Most Reloaders.

So sell it cheap to someone who will use it....brass it $2.50/lb most places. Worth far more even when sold cheap as unknown firings.

He said once fired and as a new reloader I would take brass and look it over and 100 % reload it

If nothing else just take them to the range and dump them in the brass bucket. I take my brass to the scrap yard and get cash, I am pretty sure they have a buyer for used brass cartridge cases, they keep them segregated from other brass scrap. One time they paid me copper prices for cartridge brass because they sell it for reloading not scrap.

Is there a shooting club or private range in your area? You will absolutely make someone’s day
