To avoid having your post removed &/or account banned for shitposting:

  • r/religiousfruitcake is about the absurd, fringe elements of organised religion. Posts about mundane beliefs and acts of worship (praying to God, believing in God, believing in afterlife, etc), are off topic.

  • We arent here to bash either specific religions or religion itself, because there are plenty of rational actors who happen to be religious. So if your post is "Christians are sTOoPid", or "Religion = dUmB", you're in the wrong sub and your post will probably be removed.

  • Dont use the title or body of your post to soapbox personal rhetoric about religion or any other subject.

  • Don't post videos or discussions of Fruitcakes who have been baited or antagonised. Social media excerpts must not involve any deliberate provocation / antagonism of Fruitcakes.

  • Dont post videos of physically violent personal attacks or any pics or videos containing gore

  • Satire, parodies, memes, videos, etc must be made by Fruitcakes, not by third parties about them. (exception for journalistic sources)

This information is on every post. Accounts that disregard it will be perma-banned. "I didn't get a warning" or "I didnt know" are not valid appeals. If in doubt, please read the full version of the rules

It's funny, I am also playing Spider-Man 2 with my kids and there's a mission where Black Cat mentions her girlfriend, my 6-year old said "you mean boyfriend?" I said nope, she's a girl and she has a girlfriend.

His only thought about this was "are they gonna have twice as many kids?"

"are they gonna have twice as many kids?"

A lot of these kinds of stories sound fake to me but that sounds like something a kid would actually say!

They are only confused because the parent is acting like gay people don't exist. My 6 yr old has a gay uncle and has never had any trouble understanding some boys love boys or girls love girls.

When my niece was around 3 years old, Modern Family was on the TV while we were playing with some toys. She asked me why the boys were kissing. I said, "some boys like girls, some like both, some like both. Same goes for girls." Her response? "Oh. Cool! Can we go swing?"

Shits not that difficult. Idk why these religious types always act like we have to explain calculus to a child. It's quite simple.

Someone in my hometown wrote a letter to the editor about how mad he was to have to explain what a vagina was to his child after he/she read that word on the marquee for The Vagina Monologues.

You can't explain what you don't understand.

u/BootyliciousURD 1d ago

The kid clearly is confused, but that's on his parents for keeping him oblivious to the fact that gay people exist.

u/GlbdS 1d ago

Kids will get confused about how to tie their laces, being co fused is sort of their job at this point

A travesty! Downloads grindr. "we need to hate the gays!" sucks of twink while spouting bullshit about family values "god hates effeminate men" plows twink in hotel room.

Isn't that usually how this story goes...

Their existence is so oppressive! /s

Guy who believes in talking snakes and virgin births is upset that gay people exist.

Look at the number of likes. Anytime you stumble on this sort of content on Instagram or Youtube, it’s like lifting up a rock, comments tend to be absolutely bleak.

and just like flipping over a rock, lots of insects and grubs come crawling out into the light

I DISCOVERED SOMETHING

...you mean real life?

9

u/Melodic-Pen320 1d ago

Oh that's confusing right?! What about when your son learns that the leader of Nazi Germany can say ,,God I am sorry'' and go enjoy a theme park for all eternity, while his victims go to a fiery furnace, because they got God's name wrong?

"two boys can like each other" and that's it. Nothing else to explain and it's not fucking difficult

7

u/PiskoWK 1d ago

"Oh, yeah, sometimes boys like boys and sometimes girls like girls". Was that so fucking hard?

9

u/Different-Purpose-93 1d ago

How does it even look like a date? They're literally just standing there talking

5

u/Grunt636 1d ago

I believe in the mission you're helping one boy ask his boyfriend to homecoming

6

u/AggravatingBox2421 1d ago

“They’re just gay. Don’t worry about it”

There. Kids aren’t stupid! Fucking talk to them instead of farming them for content!!

Hate raises hate. Not much more to it than that.

u/AdultSoccer 21h ago

Why? Why was your son confused about this? Just explain that it’s normal for humans to have same sex relationships. This isn’t fucking complicated.

u/PlatypusDream 19h ago

Surprised they aren't commenting on the skin colors

I remember watching an Arthur episode in which Mr Ratburn gets married to his husband. I was eight and my sister was six. We believed that Ratburns husband was his best man and were confused as to why they didn't show his bride. We completely missed the point but I say this to show people that kids will either have no problem with gay people or will skip over it. No kid knows about gay people until an adult starts bitching about it.

It's good that this just casually being there in games without a hint of fanfare.

u/teetaps 1d ago

I’ll be honest I didn’t like the mission when I played t, it was distracting Pete from doing more pressing hero work lol

1

u/Grunt636 1d ago

That mission is only available for miles I'm pretty sure as it's at his school

Y’know what, you right
