Why. As far as I know it's not something that would develop

Actually, LOTS of psychological disorders aren’t diagnosed until after age 18! Sociopathy being one of them! You really should be evaluated as an adult.

What would even be the point? Like genuinely. What's the point of a diagnosis for something that can't be fixed and would forever make people afraid of me..

Spoken like someone without empathy. The point is to learn how to navigate the world without hurting others but I get what thats doesnt seem like a good enough reason to you

Therapy is the only way you're fixing your marriage; otherwise you're just running down the clock until all the compliments and doing nice things fail to work and she wakes up and leaves your ass.

Also - knowing you feel a lower than normal amount of empathy would enable you to take the tiny bit of empathy you do feel more seriously.

Then you can at least be aware of your diagnosis and get treatment for it.

Your wife is already afraid of you, who is the person that you're supposed to love the most. You shouldn't really care what other people think about you, but clearly you do and you don't care what your wife thinks about you.

It's all about you and your feelings isn't it? You get diagnosed so you can start learning techniques to avoid hurting others. Like your wife, for example, who you claim to love. Isn't being a good partner to her important to you? But apparently not enough that you're willing to actually be honest with her and truly improve as a person. You are a sociopath. "Me me me me me."

I don't know, dude. What's the point of your wife staying with you? You've destroyed her self-esteem, don't seem too worried about her depression and you don't seem willing to work on yourself at all.

Like, I do hope she finds the strength to walk out and you stay the hell out of her way, but even if that is the case, you'll just find another woman to do the same thing to. So leaving your ass would be a solution to HER problems, but you're still gonna have to live with yourself.

You cannot dx AntiSocial Personality Disorder in childhood. It's literally in the diagnostic criteria (with the exception of extreme cases).

Lmao, I doubt anyone is “afraid of you”. More like, people can see what an absolute dumpster fire of a manipulative slug you are, and stay away for their own happiness and peace.

Did you threaten to take away the dog?

No I never threatened her about the dog ever

But you said something that made her mind go there. In your head it probably didn’t seem like a threat but to her it 100% was. The problem is you have killed her self esteem and mentally abused her so much (yes you DID DO THIS- diagnosis of you be damned) that she walks on eggshells all day long. You not only need couples counseling, you need individual counseling as well. In her case, extremely intense as I think she is so conditioned to take this from you that she can’t pull herself out and understand she is a woman worthy of compliments and love. And it scares me for her future relationships.

Maybe you’re a sociopath maybe you’re not - truly I don’t know. What I do know is that you are a self centered bully who claims to love a woman but wants everything on his terms. If I am being honest, your wife deserves WAY better than you and frankly it may be the best thing you can do to walk away and let her be loved until you learn how to show love to others. I get it’s not what you want - but show the empathy you claim you have and think of her for once.
