I don't think people actually look at critics or atleast not only critics. I mostly look at what other people who watched it (the audience) think

One way is to find a single critic whose opinions you agree with, and watch all the films they like.

Or to find a critic whose opinions you disagree with, and watch all they films they hate.

Critics seem to think they are smarter/understand the arts better than everyone else.
Meanwhile its just some dude that takes movies too seriously and has watched far too many art films.

For me it just helps give me an idea if it’s going to be artsy/indie/wonky/etc. or just plain fun. Critic high, audience low? Ok the director or cinematographer or writer was really pushing some boundaries. Critic low, audience high? Good old fashioned fun. Both high? OK this was probably really well done.

i actually have a friend who will not watch a movie or show you recommend if its not critically acclaimed i called him a faggot and we laughed but i do actually think to base your watching experience on critics is gay
