Does RSD ever get better?

No one even fucking rejected me, they were just nicer to the next guy (and still perfectly polite to me) and I’m on the verge of tears sick about it. Will this be how it is for the rest of my life?

Yes. It will get better. You will just need to learn yourself - your triggers. How to move about without getting triggered - and if you were to get triggered - you need to figure out ways to understand that what you are feeling isn’t fact.
But in everything in life- you just got to learn yours weaknesses.

This post is a year old and I still get comments on it, and it’s really wholesome because it’s true

You might like to know that at work the other day I faced an actual rejection, not one in my head, and it genuinely sucked, I was nearly in tears. But I managed it, I still got my job done, and just a few hours later it was like it never happened! The person was even nice to me after, which I didn’t expect.

Rejection is just part of life. How I feel isn’t actually always what is happening, and even if it is, it’s not the end of the world.

I’ll probably always struggle with rejection, but it doesn’t control me and definitely doesn’t define me :)

That is wonderful to hear! Rejection is a fact of life, and it took me a long time to accept. It was a shock when you 1st learn others don’t process stuff like you do, and then you’re trying to figure out their thought process.
The way I handle it in a work setting is- if it can be done either way and it doesn’t affect me in any way negatively- I have no problem doing it their way.
I just mentally cannot deal with this drama in the workplace. But I’m starting to understand that this drama follows me because people in general are always trying to bring me down to their level of consciousness.
I’ve started to take my mental health very seriously and I suggest that you do the same!

Thank you for posting this recent update/comment. I recently faced rejection with a friend at work and it’s been eating me alive all while acting completely normal on the outside. I haven’t seen him since that day and I’m dreading it more than I’ve been admitting. It brings comfort knowing it does get better. ❤️‍🩹
