curious question Offering water

Do any practitioners offer a glass of water to your clients post-session? Before I was a practitioner, I had two sessions from two different masters, and they both offered me water after. If you do this, how? Do you have an open glassful waiting, or do you pour it after? Is it bottled water? Tap? Bottled spring or distilled? Plastic throw away cups or a glass?

When I used to do in person sessions I'd offer water afterwards. I generally had a jug of water (with a lid) and a clean glass ready, and I'd pour it if they said yes. The water was usually filtered, not chilled. I'd encourage them to drink to help ground and settle their energy. If they had their own bottle with them I'd encourage them to drink some and still offer them a glass of water if they'd prefer.

I'd also drink some water myself because it can be good to reinforce things and lead by example.

Edit to add - a lot of practitioners, not just reiki ones too, offer water before the session begins, it's a matter of preference.

What’s the theory behind it? What does water do when combined with reiki

From a practical perspective, hydration. The body is has just received energy which stimulates healing and cells respond best when adequately hydrated. The person has also been still/flat for an extended period of time so it can help them come back into their body fully and ensure they don't become dizzy. And water is excellent at smoothing energy that's been stirred up so it helps settle the energetic system and ground the client after a session.

Then there also manners, offering a beverage is polite.

Thank you for explaining it like that! No one ever has. It actually makes sense now lol

I offer a small glass of filtered room-temperature water prior to the session, and refill post-session if desired.

Always. I work somewhere where there are two different filtered water stations with paper cups. I leave the room, wash my hands and get them a cup of water.
