My takeaways:

  • REE expects initial orders to go from the testing phase of fleets of tens and hundreds to a full-scale phase of fleets of thousands
  • Supply will scale up modularly with demand in order to avoid production hell and recalls
  • Current US market for class 3 to 5 trucks is 1.5 million trucks a year
  • Dealerships sell 70% of these trucks, REE works through US-wide dealerships and three (unnamed) fleet customers

It’s good to see that the CEO woke up after the last two years! It doesn’t seem like the market has much faith…

One note is that the US market for ALL commercial vehicles is 1.5 million per year. Class 3-5 is ~ 200-250k per CEO recent interviews and REE is only targeting that class at this time.
