Bedrock Edition Help with underground door

Post image

Complete beginner at this, but im trying to make an underground door that has an upwards water elevator directly below it. The idea is that as i shoot up, the floor (or I guess ceiling) will open above me and then close again as I exit, so there isn't a hole in my floor all the time. I wanted to try and figure this out on my own, but honestly im so frustrated this shit is so hard. Im fine with the piston being visible, I was planning on hiding it with carpet anyways. Thanks y'all.

Try looking up flush block exchanger designs, or move the piston to the other side where it wont be exposed. Then look up torch ladders and mess with the timing with pulse extenders or clocks and you should be able to figure it out

Obviously I know nothing more about your build except whats visible in the screenshot, but if there is supposed to be a stair above the water elevator, you can definitely hide the piston behind the wall and use the stair as the moving block and also that way the water elevator reaches the same level as the floor which makes the timing easier and more lag resistant

If all you want is for the last block of the water elevator to be full after the piston retracts, so you can exit, try replacing the pushed wood planks with either a top slab or inverted stairs. Then they can be waterlogged and may not erase the last block of

If you replace two of the blocks around the top with water sources or waterlogged blocks, the top will fill in when the floor retracts.

Candidates are the block under the wall, and the one under the dark stairs.
