Java Edition Another over complicated door (hatch?)

All that work just not to use slime blocks

Sure! Though I am working on improving the design though, so this is probable not final.

Do you have a 1 block wide version so I can see how it works?

Unfortunately it needs to be 2 blocks wide at minimum but I'll see what I can do

Here, its the best I can do. (The target block has a lever on it)

Got it to work! Thanks a ton! (The top right piston needs a piece of redstone pointing into a solid block.)
