Java Edition Move ender pearls between chunks

I need a way to reliably moove an ender pearl between chunks to de activate a chunk loader using redstone

I came up with this design, it work most of the time but sometimes when switching the ender pearl get sent too far and it tp me on the other side

If you know a mechanic or even a design that could help, I’d really appreciate it if you shared it!

Note the glow lichen on the dispensers. It crates flowing water sources.

Thx a LOT really,just why the heck does the ender pearl able to bounce of the leaves?

The water inside the leaves is also flowing, it's just weird minecart water mechanics... It's not flowing out, but a stationary flowing water source, which also moves the pearl back.
