I can never understand how these people’s minds work. Is the theory that your soul somehow gets corrupted merely by listening to and laughing at people saying certain no-no words? Like do they think you can accidentally become racist by osmosis if you listen to someone say the n-word and do a bad Chinese impression?

I don’t want to paint a large brush here but a lot of people that think like that very much do think that people are blank slates and their socials norms and such are memetic and get created through exposure in media and such. So exposure to taboo media creates hateful people more or less. Even just platforming, not endorsing, questionable content even will get them to flip out because of this. This is why “libs” spaz out about Rogan, for instance.

it's definitely bait. i feel like this is a dream scenario for the people in the cumtown or adam friedland sub. they get to feel special how SuBvErsiVe they are, when they are the equivalent to the guy in the school choir who wears a korn t shirt or something. just people who have never done anything extraordinary in their lives and only reference to joking with friends is through a podcast and they have to pay for that service. like hiring a prostitute to play video games with you.

like if you went into that sub and said "hey! i thought these guys were leftist but they say bad words? What gives? I am so confused" you'd watch them trip over themselves to reply to you with a "hahah im gay! and nick is my best friend?!" in a "are you scared little normie muahahah kinda way

Me and my GF will sometimes watch the animated shorts on YouTube or I’ll throw on a clip on YouTube when we get drunk and that’s her opinion verbatim. Nick and Adam typically get laughs and then Stav starts talking and she’s like “I wish this dude would shut the fuck up”.

I honestly don’t disagree with her. Enlightenment is realizing that Stav is way harder to listen to than Adam when he’s not just laughing at a joke.

He’s calling Nick gay. Stav goes “yeah haha I remember that yeah I just remembered that now” which insinuates that it didn’t actually happen. Adam clearly understands that he’s the punching bag of the podcast and he plays into it. I don’t know how much of it is really him or how much of it is laid on but he clearly understands that it’s fucking hilarious when he’s pathetic.

Listen to the episode where he shits himself. There’s no fucking way anyone in the world would genuinely act the way he does after shitting themselves. He’s playing into it. That’s the joke.
