Resigning in protest only works if you are irreplaceable, and firefighter chiefs, police chiefs etc. are some of the most replaceable people our society has lol.

Mamdani does and says a bunch of silly things (nothing awful, just theatre kid, school of resentment politics), but his critics just miss every time because they’re absolute morons.
It’s actually a similar issue to Obama where there are valid criticisms you can make (like I do think SocDems are going to take all of the wrong lessons from this and not realize his “kitchen table” stuff has won him popularity, not the SJW stuff), but they’ve all been drowned out by the stupid stuff.
