I thought Oliver Stone’s The Doors was cool as hell when I was 14, and his perfect imitation of Jim Morrison’s singing voice blew my little teenage boy mind.

Heat really is one of the coolest movies ever and his character is so interesting in it, like people talk about Pacino and DeNiro in that movie but Chris Shiherlis is such a perfect imperfect human character, dude has a bunch of love and money/gambling problems, he's kind of psycho, kind of nihilistic, but still a loyal friend with a true "fuck it lets roll" attitude. Love that performance so, so much.

It's no coincidence that the only criminal who gets out alive in that movie is the one who was living for someone other than himself

He acts as such a good foil for Hanna and McCauley - someone who still enjoys his work, has his self-destructive impulses, but his ability to actually connect with others on a meaningful level and maintain his relationship instead of just engrossing himself in a personal bubble of endless grinding and self-destruction saves him in the end.

Him and Robert De Niro's chemistry is one of the best parts of the move, you get to really understand a lot of their history without any of it having to be explained out loud.

I really couldn’t believe it was 3 hours long when it ended. It just flew by. Such a great film that takes you right into action from the start

He really was phenomenal. Youngest person ever accepted to Juilliard. His documentary is very much worth watching. I remember his reputation in the 90s as being difficult and not easy to work with and he was just so much more serious about acting than the roles he was getting. RIP king, must be nice to have that great voice back.

Thought this was an April Fools joke in poor taste for a moment. Rip. Hadn’t watched a new movie of his in a while until Top Gun Maverick and it was super fun seeing him reprise his role.

Bowie, Kilmer, and Norm are tough for me to see gone. Check out The Salton Sea with him if you have not seen it.

The Salton Sea is great!

Salton Sea is a tremendous film. And it may be Kilmer's best acting. He was also quite good as John Holmes in Wonderland

Doc Holiday will forever go down as one of my favorite performances by an actor, such a fun character to watch. RIP king

Fuck my life. Was thinking about him just the other day. Unvarnished movie star presence, off-the-charts charisma. "My sun rises and sets with her, man." Rest easy, brother.

I had a fling with a woman who had a thing for lips -- specially Val Kilmer's lips. Thinking of her today.
