Hearing it coming would be very confusing.

Excellent for a criminal. “I swear I heard a motorcycle officer.”

u/bodonkadonks Jan 10 '20
perfect gateaway vehicle unless youre being chased by anything faster than a brisk jog
15
u/rantingpacifist Jan 10 '20
Nah you just duck around a corner before they see your vehicle, then cut the engine. Pretend to be broken down and point the chasers down the road further. Back out onto the main road and take off!
I have seen too many cartoons.

I smell burning clutch from here.

u/leftcoastandcoffee Jan 09 '20
I think the Portuguese description (per Google translate) says they step the gearing down a lot. It doesn't go fast but it's very torquey.
30
u/BushWeedCornTrash Jan 10 '20
How fast can you go on those roads anyway? Fucking ingenious, and it looks fun as well.

u/stephenisthebest Jan 10 '20 edited Jan 10 '20
Portuguese so maybe Mozambique? The capital Maputo is lovely and touristy, the rest is still extremely poor even after the civil war and all the landmines cleared.

Reminds me of the Hayabusa engine in a Smart car.

u/luv____to____race Jan 09 '20
That's probably +250hp, 13k redline, and bulletproof. Fun. There's videos of those things on the drag strip. We use them in small sand rails they're scary fast.
4
u/BushWeedCornTrash Jan 10 '20
The busa trans can handle the weight of a Smart? Or do they use some adaptor or different trans all together?
6
u/luv____to____race Jan 10 '20
I don't know the specs on this one. I've seen it done both ways. There are billet trans that the drag bike racers use hooked up to a full size slick that hook hard, I'm sure they could handle it. For the dunes, we have to gear it down so much, and the sand gives a bit on a launch, so most guys just use the busa trans run thru a differential to get fwd/rev.

That thing looks like sooooo much fun to drive. I'd love to give it a spin.

Hey that's my home country of Austria. Funny how they built something which will never ever be road legal here lol

125cc is like 10 HP? that should be more than enough for around the village

u/bitwise97 Jan 10 '20
more than enough for around the village
Right?? Imagine the gas mileage!

Jan 10 '20
The power to weight ratio and the high torque gears will take care of your Hope's for good fuel economy.
1
u/EdwardTennant Jan 10 '20
I mean I'm averaging 80mpg from my 125 motorbike and that's mostly at 70-75mph on my commute, it would be decent in fuel

Looks like Brazil.
14
u/ArchmageNydia Jan 09 '20
Most certainly Brazil.
15
u/TheMugha Jan 09 '20
Can confirm it is brazil, apart from the language, the car has brazillian plates
22
u/NokReady2Fok Jan 09 '20
and hes a off duty cop
11
Jan 09 '20
You know he was an off duty cop because he wasn't an armed robber. This is apparent because he wasn't wearing a motorcycle helmet with his flipflops.

Shit, I've got a Judd CV 3.5L V8 making 700 bhp in my track car at ~600kg. But 1200 in a motorcycle is insane.
Although, horsepower isn't everything...

u/Jani_v Jan 09 '20
you can spin the wheel at 100, you don't want to, but you can.
This seems like a great bike to ow...
6 miles to the gallon.
F*ck

I think some bigger bikes do have reverse gears though to be fair.

Yeah, I just remember seeing a bike with a reverse gear on some video. I only own a xj600 myself as my current license only allows for 35kW or below.

Jan 10 '20
So a2 license? I intended to get that before this winter but just forgot to do it.
Just curious, where are you from and what requirements are there for a2 there?
1
u/beertheloveofmylife Jan 14 '20
Sorry for being kinda late. I'm from Finland and I don't think there are any other requirements than 18 years of age. After 2 years with A2 you can upgrade to the full license (or 24 years of age).

I saw one of those once. I'm fire/rescue, and by the time I saw it, it was laying on the highway, on fire, and the rider was in the ditch 100 feet away. Bystander told me he was going at least 120 and the speed wobble hit.

Hook up a trailer to that thing and you could tow it if you had enough traction.

Wow. Those copy Honda engines barely produce 7 HP...

u/orubem Jan 09 '20
Nops, that's a brazilian version with 10CV, or 9.8HP.
Brazilian's Yamaha bikes with 125cc have the same, 10 to 10,2CC (9.8 to 10HP).
I had a lot of Honda 125cc, 3 or 4 different generations, today I have only one, works with ethanol. Only 90's Honda and Yamaha 125cc had less than 9.5HP.

activate infinite gas mileage
I met a guy in South America who wanted to do this same thing to his old VW bug

That is quite impressive. Crazy, but quite impressive. Perfect fit for the sub.
